I think this, the east side of Norwich's Market Place, is known as Gentleman's Walk. I took the photo at around lunchtime and had it developed and scanned at home, 30 miles away, by teatime. Not much less convenient than digital, but more interesting and lots more fun ...and I had a nap while the negatives were drying.
Well I'm new to home processing; I think this was my fourth film and I'm still sort of finding my feet. The film had a slightly "grey" look throughout and I'm not sure whether I might have over-developed. The matter is confused by the fact that I was guessing the exposures. This is a cropping from a 120 negative. I thought I'd give the Zeiss Ikon Nettar another outing. Previously I'd found the Novar Anastigmat lens a little indistinct at the edges of the frame, but I'd been using it at its widest aperture, f6.3; I conjectured that smaller apertures might bring an improvement. The blurry edges are still present, but to a lesser degree. It's not a great problem and the lens is superbly sharp at the centre of the picture ...better, I think, than the Zeiss Tessar on my other 120 folder, a Welta Weltax. In future I think I will use the Nettar with fast film. It's fastest shutter speed is 1/200th, which should ensure small apertures.
My technique is strictly non-expert but, for those of you who are interested, this was developed in Rodinal at a dilution of 1:50 for 11 minutes; agitation was constant for the first 30 seconds, thereafter at 30-second intervals until five minutes.
second test with the SB-600 with the radio trigger. A part of my work is making photographies for real estate. A recurrent problem is the huge luminosity difference between windows and back of the room, especially with an ultra wide angle.
In this house, it's reinforced by the veranda at left, much brighter than the living room in the right corner (upper image). I tried the SB-600 on-camera, but it doesn't solve anything. So I bought those cheap transceivers.
I left the SB-600 with an omni-bounce behind the stairs, and made a few trials and errors until I got a sufficiently good one - I was in a hurry, people were eating just outside the field. Composition is better in the first one.
An added benefit is the color temperature of the flash corresponds to the daylight, not incandescent like the upper one. I think I need a second flash behind me.
another Poladroid initial image test. i'll definitely play w/ this some more now that i've d/L'ed it.
oh yeah, i simply loaded in this b&w image and out came this.
cheers.

If you’d like to view my images larger… While I only allow my contacts to view my larger images (I generally upload at least 800px images on the long axis)…
a quick workaround I might suggest is to view my photostream as a slideshow. Works well for me. This is frequently how I view others’ ‘streams, and it will put a large image on black. just click the projector screen icon next to the stream or set. : )

on 01 jan 2010, I began a new journey w/ a flickr 365 group that i formed. The idea is that I strive to push myself daily; by exploring techniques, ideas, and experiments.

finally hooked up to the pump. It... kind of works, there's some heavy overshoot and I will have to tweak the controls a bit. Other than that there are no problems what so ever, so I'm quite happy.

Objectives:
you will draw based on the theme, “honors art class- what i learned”. your work will be scored in the areas content, color, craft, and commitment.
Recall the “anatomy of an a-h-w”. you will follow the same guidelines:.
q consideration for composition, design, and negative space
q framing, a line that encloses
q headline- a unique, clever title
q date
q color scheme of 4 hues + neutrals
q color: oil pastels, color pencils, watercolor, mixed media, collage, consider a background value
q journal: artistically hand written within /surrounding drawing
q only draw with a pen, no pencils! this will cause you to work slowly. you are also making a commitment to take your time. be confident in your markings
you need to include images that reference the following in your drawing:
q the “new” process you discovered, studied, and implemented (project 2)
q self: you, your feelings, hopes, dreams, the work you did, doubts, fears
q 2nd hour routines/habits
q Describe the style of the artist mrs. yackel chose for your project 3- how did you “make it your own?”
q project- your best success and why
q sketchbook or inspiration board
q color scheme: choose 4 hues and design an original swatch
q your major of choice and tools you used
q Analyze an artwork studied in class or seen on the field trip.
Title, artist, medium, and year
When you analyze an artwork you will tell how the subject matter and elements of the work have been organized. To do this, think of the elements of art — line, shape, form, and color. How do the elements work together to create unity, balance, harmony, contrast, and movement? How do the colors contribute to the artwork? Where do you see complementary colors used? How does this affect the contrast? How are the elements of the work arranged?
