Almost aways participants are able to ride a bicycle unaided.... and so soon it becomes a competition... in Tinebea, one-handed signals set the standard....
Like bulls, ready for attack. The uphill racers first of all came down together for a photo shoot.

I'm sorry my lens was a bit blurred, so the photo could have been better.
On sunday june 14 2008 we visited the Ökowerk at Grunewald in Berlin after we rode the origamiride through the Grunewald.

At Ökowerk there were several activities: testriding Birdys, historical bicycle show, slides about touring in Madagascar by Dietmar Böhm, the story about Bird in Japan, uphill races, and several contests for the lightest and the most beautifully tuned Birdy.

First stop - Asueyi, one of Techiman's outlying villages. In the 'test-ride' each participant is invited to demonstrate they can ride a bicycle... before they can attend our programs.
Partway through, it becomes a contest...

One of the visitors took her dog to the Birdy show. I love dogs and it would be one of my dreams to have a dog with me on origamitours.

On our way back to Asueyi we passed a few bicycles and many more people on foot. Those on bicycles raced behind us, and those on foot - especially the school children, ran after us for as long as they could keep up.
I think this is the one! The man has been searching for a bike compatible to my new Electra Townie. Taken at Bicycle Sports Shop.
At each program we collect a little data from each participant, including the distance they travel to their place of work or schooling... in Tinabea, the third village we visited on this trip, the average roundtrip was 18km everyday... by foot.
The Honda Shop Midland, in association with Honda Motorcycles Australia, Crankd Honda Racing and Barbagallo Raceway want to say thanks heaps to all the riders who came out for the Ride Day!
We scored fantastic weather and we really hope you enjoyed the day.
The Honda Shop Team certainly felt it went really well and plan to have more events like this in the future.
If you would like any more info on any of the bikes you rode or would like to test ride please contact us.
