Lochindorb was a stronghold of the Comyns Lords of Badenoch and was captured by Edward I in 1303 and again by his son, who strengthened it, a few years later. From 1372 it was occupied by 'The Wolf of Badenoch', Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan, who died in 1394. It was ordered, by royal mandate, to be destroyed in 1458, having been fortified against the king, but the walls still stand to almost full height.

Stage 4 Blackpool - Blackpool
Distance of stage 151.3kms / 94.1miles
2009 will be the fourth time that The Tour of Britain has visited Blackpool, making it one of the most visited venues for the race outside of London. This popular holiday destination has been a happy hunting ground for the Brits on the previous two visits to the resort with Roger Hammond taking the previous two stages that have started or finished there.
Best known for the Pleasure Beach and its eponymous tower, Blackpool is a destination undergoing a renaissance at the moment and welcomes many thousands of visitors each year, as much for events such as The Tour of Britain as for the many more traditional delights the town has to offer.
Blackpool is the UK's favourite holiday resort, packed with attractions, entertainment, top line shows and events. The resort boasts twelve miles of promenade, at the heart of which is the famous Golden Mile. Here you'll find adrenalin pumping thrills at the Pleasure Beach and the world famous Blackpool Tower and Circus.

Lochindorb was a stronghold of the Comyns Lords of Badenoch and was captured by Edward I in 1303 and again by his son, who strengthened it, a few years later. From 1372 it was occupied by 'The Wolf of Badenoch', Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan, who died in 1394. It was ordered, by royal mandate, to be destroyed in 1458, having been fortified against the king, but the walls still stand to almost full height.

On a misty autumn morning in 1972 Test Vehicle 18000 is about to leave on a test run from Wadgassen towards Hargarten, on the French-German border in the Saar Region.
18000 was originally a prototype gas-turbine-electric locomotive, ordered in Switzerland by the GWR and delivered in 1949 to British Railways. After 18000 became surplus to BR’s requirements it was transferred to the International Union of Railways and rebuilt as a test vehicle to investigate the design parameters which influence the adhesion between wheel and rail.
The conversion took place in 1969 in the Bellinzona workshops of the Swiss Federal Railways. Almost all of the original technical equipment was removed from the body and from the bogies. One bogie (nearest the camera) could be fitted with various types of traction motor driving the middle wheelset. This facility required a major reconstruction of the bogie, and local remodelling of the vehicle body, leading to the ‘blisters’ on the underframe. The traction motor was fed by the equipment of another specially adapted locomotive, which ran in tandem. The choice of a suitable tandem locomotive made it possible to investigate the effect of different traction control systems and catenary voltages. Part of the original engine compartment of 18000 was occupied by the traction motor and mechanical transmission; the rest of the compartment was fitted out as room for the measuring equipment and for meetings of the test team.
Adhesion trials with various technical configurations took place between 1970 and 1975. In the photo the SNCF prototype thyristor-controlled locomotive BB16685 is coupled to 18000, which has been equipped with a corresponding SNCF traction motor. The third vehicle in this composition is a DB class 181 locomotive, designed to operate on international services under the French 25kV overhead system as well as the German 15kV system. After each test run it was used to haul the test train back to the starting point near Wadgassen.
The line from Wadgassen to Hargarten was chosen for these trials because it was lightly used and also could be switched to either the German or the French overhead supply system. The route has since been de-electrified and much of it has been closed to traffic.
BB16685 was withdrawn from service in 2004. A locomotive of class 181 (no. 001) has been preserved at the DB museum Koblenz. 18000 has been repainted in BR livery and is displayed at Didcot Railway Centre.

With The Union's release of the Perses, it helped start the use of a new frame. To further the development of a new frame or ideas for future Kampfers, The Union created a team of people which consisted of pilots and mechanics. This new team was called the Titans Test Team. A team where Kampfers that are designed to test out new weapons, frames and any ideas that The Union wants to experiment with are tested by the pilots.
The Titans only test the Kampfers and let The Union's engineers create and give the new experimental Kampfers to them.
The first experimental Kampfer was simply called the Type Zero. Originally designed to test out a developing float system. But with the float system taking too long to create, they tried something new with the Kampfer, something that was on the list of doing.
This Kampfer has the ability to transform into a ground vehicle at will and supports a new leg system that's considered to be stronger and overall much better performing that previous Kampfer legs.
But with no float system still, the only thing that can be done with this Kampfer is to improve it.

Well then.
I built a new transforming Kampfer! Yay! It actually transforms really well and is much stronger than previous attempts.
It all started out by me trying to build a Kampfer that resembled the Eureka 7 AO Mark I, which kinda did but it wasn't great. After I was toying around to see if I could get a flight transformation out of it but with that I saw more of a vehicle mode that resembled the LFOs from Eureka 7. So I went with that.
Other than that there isn't much to say. I did try a new leg setup with this Kampfer, which is nice and is a big improvement from previous Kampfers. The start of the upgrade for the legs came from the Perses but I tried to size it down quite a bit.
So now I'm trying to improve it and work on building legs and feet as right now I'm struggling with, a lot.

An F-16 Fighting Falcon from the 416th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., is in the process of a midair fuel transfer from a Royal Australian Air Force KC-30A tanker Dec. 3, 2015. This was the first flight as part of a coalition tanker aerial refueling certification effort to qualify Australian, United Arab Emirates and Italian tankers to refuel U.S. Air Force F-16s, F-15 Eagles, B-1B Lancers, and A-10 Thunderbolt IIs using their respective booms.
