DB is planning to replace their old traditional carriages. The last remaining ones are due to be replaced by DB's latest train: The ICE L. Those consist of a fixed rake of carriages designed and made by Talgo. And who's a little bit familiar with that company knows what that means: trouble. For almost all countries outside Spain trains from Talgo ended up causing problems. Except maybe for Kazakhstan, who got them quite cheap. However the vibrations of the trains in Kazakhstan are especially annoying, as those include sleeper trains. Even the latest version in Spain, the Talgo Avril, is causing problems. However, DB and Talgo announced when they introduces the ICE L to the press than this one be a success for Germany.
Only a few short years later, even before the trains are in service, the problems pop up. First the first days the testing teams had problems with their equipment, as the vibrations of the train caused problems. And the homologation in Germany has gotten delayed, and even more delayed. The trains are planned to get in service towards The Netherlands and Denmark as well, however because of the problems the trains might only end up being allowed up to 100km/h. Which is quite slow obviously, especially for a train called InterCity Express. Now DB and Talgo have changed to order, so there will be less ICE L sets produced. It seems parties concerned are attempting the limit the damage in case it goes wrong. Or should I say: gets even worse?
Nevertheless, one of the sets entered The Netherlands in early 2025 for testing. Normally I'd have taken my pole and have gone to another location, however I had problems with my equipment during this week. Luckily I had permission to enter a building early near Bathmen. There I got 2 camera's ready: 1 on ground level and 1 one their office containers for a higher view. From there I was able to get the train on photo from 2 angles as it headed west.

Artemis I will be an uncrewed test flight of the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System rocket as an integrated system ahead of crewed flights to the Moon. Under Artemis, NASA aims to land the first woman and first person of color on the Moon and establish sustainable lunar exploration.

Lochindorb was a stronghold of the Comyns Lords of Badenoch and was captured by Edward I in 1303 and again by his son, who strengthened it, a few years later. From 1372 it was occupied by 'The Wolf of Badenoch', Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan, who died in 1394. It was ordered, by royal mandate, to be destroyed in 1458, having been fortified against the king, but the walls still stand to almost full height.
