Realistic version goes to Matchbox, Hot Wheels gets to make the Tesla Model S in its own erm unique way!! Odd looking proportions which makes it look lower than the real vehicle and large rear spoiler hasn't really endeared it to most collectors but it does have some intricate tampo detailing to the front and especially the rear. Bought late in 2015. Mint and boxed.

This casting is slowly growing on me with every new recolour and although of course it will never better the far superior Matchbox equivalent the Hot Wheels Tesla Model S does make more sense when given decent colours. For the 2017 batch it gets this striking and rather glossy metallic black finish which really flatters its slightly odd proportions and helps highlight its decent levels of tampo detailing to both front and rear. Bought from ASDA who are my Mattel heroes for the week as quite a lot of their stores local to me were brimming with brand new batches of Hot Wheels and Matchbox. Mint and boxed.

Mattel obviously thought there was enough scope and budget to produce a model of the high technology Tesla Model S in both its HW and MBX ranges. Predictably the Matchbox version is by far the best of the two but I do also like this one. The Tesla's sleek body appears to have been lowered for the Hot Wheels version and has predictably being given that upturned chin for it to travel faster down its racing sets but what I do appreciate about it is the fantastic detailing to the front and rear, especially the rear in fact and also the colours which have been given to it in its short life. This one came from Tesco back in late 2015. Mint and boxed.
