Tesla Model 3 in a magic sunset

Static displays at the British Grand Prix are usually abysmal and this year, once again, was no exception to the rule. However, the local constabulary usually attempt to make up for it.

For a few years Northamptonshire Police and the Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) had a brilliant display of vehicles on show for the spectators.

Unfortunately, it was a smaller display this year but there were still some nice things on show.

Amongst a number of vehicles parked up alongside the old start/finish straight was this rather nice Tesla Model 3 demonstrator vehicle that was on loan to Northamptonshire Police for the weekend.

The British Grand Prix was held as a part of the UK Government's Events Research Programme, which meant a capacity crowd at a sporting event in the UK for the first time since early 2020 and no social distancing or face coverings required at the meeting.

Taking place on the day before pretty much all lockdown restrictions were lifted in England all attendees had to demonstrate that they had tested negative for Covid-19 from tests taken within 48 hours of the event or prove that they had had both vaccination jabs 14 days before arrival.

I can't tell you how good it felt to experience some sort of 'normality' after so long. The scorching summer weather made it even better!

The Tesla model 3 has a unique door handle. It's flush with the car body so means less wind drag.

It takes people a few times to get the knack of using it properly- push with your thumb and the handle comes out.

I kinda knew it was gonna burn today, but I didn't know if it would show up since the horizon lines were covered, but we were treated to a great sunset burn. The Model 3's Glass roof were a treat to reflect off the epic colors of the clouds.
