The main terminal on the Moscow canal for long-range and intercity routes. It was built in 1937. We left from here for our cruise to St. Petersburg. It looks very un-soviet.

This mural is located at the Marine Air Terminal at LaGuardia Airport. It was a WPA project. The terminal is the only remaining airport from the days of the flying boats, think Spruce Moose. Its a great story of America in that in the red scare of the 50's it was painted over for being Socialist, Red, etc ... In the late 70's it was restored.
The place itself is so quiet you hardly feel like you are even in an airport as the modern addition handles most of the airport traffic.
One of those pieces of history that goes largely unnoticed.
