Trevor told me a cool story about how people put up and Osprey proof canopy over this water and weather gage on the Columbia. An osprey spent two weeks trying to get a stick to stick to it and finally accomplished this task. The folks built a platform for the nest but the bird shunned it in favor of the more difficult foundation. Cool bird. Apparently the whole community was rooting for the bird and its progress was the talk of the town. I like that story.
