This is one determined weed...

Omni was brought to me @ about 3 weeks old. He is a cat who is bright with tenacity. A total handful. Omni figured out how to open my doors. Knew word commands.

 

He was adopted by a lovely couple in Tucson who had two other cats. Im sure he rules their house ~ with love! Omni was a one of a kind kitty. Personality Plus!

A highly animistic and creative weaving to and fro. I can feel myself swaying to the music that must surely be there. There's a large box down here, hidden under some boughs and low swinging heavily leafed branches, with "for feral cats; do not disturb". A vet put those down along the Sacramento River last year, hoping to catch a few and get them spayed. Good idea. These tree roots even look like they'd like to capture a feral or two themselves.

At a ravaged apartment complex, a tenacious houseplant uprooted by the storm had found purchase in the sandy soil covering a concrete slab and had managed to recover and thrive in the foreign environment. The blooms' vivid colors caught my eye in the midst of the bleakness, and I was astonished to see a somewhat fragile succulent plant doing so well among the ruins. Gives new meaning to "bloom where you are planted," I suppose...

This is another iris plant, at the edge of the waterline on the Georgian Bay shore here in Annan, and a tiny jewelweed plant.
