that is my photographic set up/black box, behind all those boxes of rocks, stored temporarily and containing mostly small stuff for kids (the first day of our club's gem show is mainly set up for school kids!) rock photographs will have to wait a few days!

We might reach 60s (16C) today. It is not supposed to freeze again here till Thursday and Friday, but with the state wide power issues in Texas, I decided I better upload today's photo early just in case.

The Chequers Bus Station in Maidstone was refurbished over the summer of 2021 and to prevent buses passing through whilst work was taking place temporary bus stops were positioned in King Street.

This image is not an HDR, but I did use three different exposures blended with masks on multiple layers in Photoshop to get the final image. This happens to be a view I see almost nightly driving home from work, if you look closely you can see Horsetooth Rock on the right mountain.

Downtown Tempe has seen an explosion of growth and development. Most property owners have succumbed to the profit potential and sold their land, but there a couple who are still fighting. I assume at some point soon this will no longer exist.

Taken remotely with my Eufy Security Cam on 8 Aug. It has rained almost an inch since mid-May. The summer monsoon is looking to be one of the driest on record after two consecutive wettest years under La Niña.

This is an abandoned home in Ephrata, Washington. It's been empty for at least 20 years. I keep thinking someday someone is just going to tear it down and start over....

I do my best,

but...

how i can be sure...

where can i find the torch to lighten the way...

all i want,

is safety,

for all...

for ALL...

Some sort of temporary peace...

sometimes i experiment with cropping my photos into squares; sometimes the result pleases me. i love these neon signs, and really loving how this astia sim looks at night. i’m always trying to catch the smokers out on a break from their machines, but they’re a paranoid lot.

This series is about those places that become our own for a short period of time, but for that small time we make them ours.

萬神廟的穹頂 The Pantheon dome. The concrete for the coffered dome was poured in moulds, probably mounted on temporary scaffolding. The oculus is the main source of natural light.

The Pantheon (/ˈpænθiən/ or US /ˈpænθiɒn/; Latin: Pantheon,[nb 1] from Greek Πάνθειον Pantheion meaning "[temple] of every god") is a former Roman temple, now a church, in Rome, Italy, on the site of an earlier temple commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus (27 BC – 14 AD). The present building was completed by the emperor Hadrian and probably dedicated about 126 AD. He retained Agrippa's original inscription, which has confused its date of construction.

The building is circular with a portico of large granite Corinthian columns (eight in the first rank and two groups of four behind) under a pediment. A rectangular vestibule links the porch to the rotunda, which is under a coffered concrete dome, with a central opening (oculus) to the sky. Almost two thousand years after it was built, the Pantheon's dome is still the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome. The height to the oculus and the diameter of the interior circle are the same, 43.3 metres (142 ft).
