Friday, May 1 -- a temporary installation by Hunt Clark, a 2009 KMA Contemporary Focus artist, at Fluorescent Gallery (627 N Central St, Knoxville).
Contemporary Focus is a new series of lectures, workshops, and
exhibitions dedicated to new, adventurous art being developed in
Knoxville. The inaugural lineup presents three artists who are
exploring a wide range of ideas across a range of media: Hunt Clark,
Patricia Tinajero, and David Wolff. Over the coming months, each
Contemporary Focus artist will develop artwork for a group exhibition
at the KMA, present lectures about their work, and host studio visits.
The series is designed to foster an ongoing conversation between
artists and the public.
The Knoxville Museum of Art is strongly committed to providing diverse
audiences with unique opportunities for learning and personal growth.
Contemporary Focus provides an important opportunity for artists in
Knoxville to engage a wider public and encourages interaction between
artists and their community.
Contemporary Focus is sponsored in part by the Tennessee Arts
Commission, Arts Builds Communities.
With Metrolink’s Orange County Line having been obstructed by a landslide at San Clemente, service has been temporarily suspended between San Juan Capistrano and Oceanside and passengers traveling south out of Fullerton to San Diego have therefore been instructed to board a bus at Irvine as Amtrak’s southbound Pacific Surfliner No. 564 pulls into the station.

Having won the contract to operate RE7 and RB42 services through Wuppertal fro December 2015, National Express found itself short of multiple unit trains so was forced to hire in temporary locomotive hauled replacements.
Siemens ES64 U2 locomotive, more commonly known as class 182, 182 534 is seen at Wuppertal Hbf with one such service bound for Cologne.

The temporary waiting room at the new Onslow park and ride site in Guildford.
It opened on 11th November 2013.
Like Merrow, the site has opened without the future permanent waiting room.

We planned to have just what we needed for the projects we would be working on over the next few weeks. The temporary lab looks great, and has space to move around.
An exhibition of modern art opened downtown last weekend in Odeon Alley, in association with the Ministry of Casual Living.
A collection of collages and hand-written prose, as well as some live performances attracted passers-by on a fine summer's evening.
The show had touches of guerilla art, with pieces hung on twine stretching across the alleyway, and along the bordering chain link fence.
Caspian Mine Headframe
The Caspian Mine Headframe is a steel mining building located at north of Caspian Road. The Caspian Mine opened in 1903, the second of three mines opened by the Verona Mining Company. Verona later sold the mine to the Pickands-Mather Company. The original headframe was wooden; the current structure was built as a replacement in 1921. The headframe is a 106 foot high steel-framed structure clad in corrugated steel siding. It is about 25 feet by 10 feet at the base and tapers to about 10 feet by 10 feet at the top. The stanchions constructed to support steel cables leading from the hoisthouse to the headframe are located nearby.
This headframe is significant as the oldest remaining headframe in Iron County. The Caspian Mine was the most productive mine in the county from its opening in 1903 until its closing in 1937. Pickands-Mather Company, the operator of the Caspian, eventually deeded the headframe, engine house, and the surrounding 5.5 acres to the Iron County Historical and Museum Society.
I am using one of our bedrooms in the new house as a temporary home office until we finish out the basement.
