The upwelling of a lava flow created these plates called "dragon's teeth" all along the north rim of the peninsula at Makaluapuna Point, Maui, Hawaii. Processed with Lightroom, Photoshop and Topaz filters.
Dragon’s Teeth was formed as a result of one of the last lava flows from West Maui Volcano thousands of years ago. The lava flow met the intense ocean waves and strong sea winds causing it to jut upwards, cool, and harden, creating the jagged black rock appearance.
Once in a while it is necessary to update the branches of your tree. While loppers are only suitable for branches with a diameter of more than 4 or 5 cm, the lop saw can easily handle thicker wood. But it remains to be careful with the sharp teeth of the saw
Chipmunks have incredible personalities. They are funny, smart, engaging, cute, silly, feisty, spastic and above all.....friendly.
This rocks formation called "Devil's teeth" on the Senja island near Tromso in Norway is a "must see" spot on the Senja trip. I spend just a few minutes here and promised to be back next time.

Leaves of Century Plant (Agave americana). A stunning, sculptural plant. As the 6-foot leaves unfurl, savage spines leave a lasting impression on the plant’s epidermis. Matures in roughly 10 years, at which time a yellow-flowered stalk bolts upwards of 26 feet (8 meters); the primary plant dying thereafter.

Pearl spent several hours at the vet today having three teeth extracted. She did not enjoy the visit at all.
This bedding was bought for Vasэka, but it seemed cramped to him, so now Yashka sleeps in it. But more often Yashka sleeps on the floor, he is hot!

Leaves: Alternate, seven to nine-lobed, oblong-ovate to oblong, five to ten inches long, four to six inches broad; seven to eleven lobes tapering gradually from broad bases, acute, and usually repandly dentate and terminating with long bristle-pointed teeth; the second pair of lobes from apex are largest; midrib and primary veins conspicuous. Lobes are often less deeply cut than most other oaks of the red oak group. Leaves emerge from the bud convolute, pink, covered with soft silky down above, coated with thick white tomentum below. When full grown are dark green and smooth, sometimes shining above, yellow green, smooth or hairy on the axils of the veins below. In autumn they turn a rich red, sometimes brown. Червоний дуб – напрочуд гарне дерево. В Україні навіть люди, які мало цікавляться природою навколо себе, восени звертають увагу на його червоне листя з гострими "зубами".
Батьківщина цього дерева – Північна Америка. До Європи його завезли наприкінці XVII, а в Україну – на початку XIX століття. Сьогодні в нашій країні американський дуб можна побачити не тільки в містах, де його використовують для озеленення, але й у лісах, де його активно висаджують лісівники. В кінці минулого року вийшла наукова стаття групи українських дослідників, присвячена тому, як дуб червоний впливає на українські ліси. Автори серед іншого показали, що в насадженнях американського дуба трав'янистих рослин було дуже мало або й зовсім немає. Тоді як у сусідньому лісі з дуба звичайного різні трав'янисті рослини почуваються чудово.
Річ у тім, що червоний дуб має дуже густий підріст, і в його тіні нічого не росте. Крім того, в наших умовах його листя довго не розкладається і вкриває землю щільним шаром, що заважає рости іншим рослинам. Нарешті, грають роль так звані алелопатичні властивості – червоний дуб виділяє сполуки, які пригнічують конкурентів.
Фактично, насадження американського дуба стають так званими "біологічними пустелями". Здалеку схоже на ліс, але якщо придивитися ближче – немає майже нічого, крім дерев одного виду.
