A new generation of mobile network technology stands ready to go further than its predecessors could have dreamed.
What does 5G mean? Simply put, 5G is short for “5th generation.” You may also see the standard called 5G-NR (the NR stands for “new radio”). If the earliest mobile network—analog voice calls, no SMS, no mobile data or browsing—was the first generation, 5G is its great-great-grandchild.

November 11th, 2012. This was E^3: Empowering, Encouraging, Eliminating Barrier's second mentoring session. We started off with one tour but ended up having three tours. At the Taza Factory Store we learned the process of making chocolate as well as the company's founder untraditional background. We discussed the current job market in the chocolate field such as Senior Product Development Scientist. Then we went on to our next tour to the Bay State Fencing club and related engineering the fencing gear to the STEM theme. Finally, we went across the street to the Green City Growers Urban Farm.

As part of the Mobile Atlanta Initiative, the Metro Atlanta Chamber hosts quarterly Fast Pitch events where a group of Corporate Angels chooses 8 companies that they would like to see pitch from a list of mobility startups in Atlanta. The goal is to take the 200+ mobility related startups in the metro Atlanta area and allow them to connect with large potential customers and partners to accelerate the introduction and innovation process. Today’s event at Atlanta Tech Village had Corporate Angel representatives from Panasonic, AT&T Mobility, The Weather Company, Home Depot, Verizon, Tech Squarr Ventures and Atlanta Technology Angels. The presenting startups included Dragon Army, Memi, Lumense, Novarata, UserIQ, Voxa and Yik Yak.

At PMA's Tech Knowledge Symposium, attendees learned about groundbreaking technologies leading companies in the industry are deploying today with real-world results. They connected with tech partners and gained trusted information about tools that can manage labor, speed workflow and eliminate redundancies.
We spent two days with North Kansas City students from Benjamin Banneker Charter Academy of Technology and Staley High School. Experts from the Mo. Dept. of Conservation, National Weather Service, US Geological Survey and US Environmental Protection Agency came to teach about reptiles, water quality, hydrology and the history of the Missouri River.
And we got to take the kids out on the river to see the sights and clean up a bunch of trash. Most of these students had never been on the river, and we could see doors opening as the days went on. Great times.

I was changing my daughter into her night clothes on our bed and looked up to see an intriguing image of the silhouette of a lamp that we had wrapped the chord around so that a child could not pull/chew/hang themselves on it and took a second to think to myself "well golly gee, that technology sure does look pretty the way it hangs there"
