Opening Bell : Equity benchmarks fell sharply after flat opening, dragged by index heavyweights Reliance Industries, HDFC twins, ITC. Currently, the 30-share BSE Sensex isdown 163.34 points at 27921.82 and the 50-share NSE Nifty declined 57.80 points to 8620.45. About 1189 shares declined against 803 advancing shares on the BSE.
All BSE Sectors are trading down with major losses. BSE Oil & Gas and Bank Nifty have slipped around 1.58% and 1.27% respectively.
Adani Ports, TCS, Bharti Airtel, Bosch and Bajaj Auto are the Top Gainers, while Grasim, Lupin, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank and
Tech Mahindra are the Top Losers.

Closing Bell : The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty ended in red on Tuesday on account of weak global cues. Sensex closed 87.79 points down at 28,064, while Nifty settled 29.60 points down at 8,642.55. Sentiments also dampened after Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation for month of July climbed to a two-year high at 3.55 per cent as compared to 1.62 per cent in the previous month. Industrial inflation climbed to 1.8 per cent from 1.17 per cent last month.
In the 50-share index, Cipla, Adani Ports, Hindalco, BPCL and Ambuja Cements gained between 1.88 per cent and 7.38 per cent. On the other hand, Bharti Infratel, Bosch, Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technologies skid between 2.23 per cent and 4.24 per cent.
Asian peers also ended lower on Tuesday. Hang Seng, Nikkei and Shanghai closed 0.09 per cent, 1.62 per cent and 0.49 per cent down at 22910.84, 16596.51 and 3110.04, respectively.

#Equity benchmark indices ended the session on a sluggish note, as frontline indices ended in the red for the second straight day. Cautious stance by the investors ahead of derivatives expiry on June 29 could have kept the market in check. The #Sensex closed down 123.93 points at 30834.32, while the #Nifty ended lower by 20.15 points at 9491.25. The market breadth was negative as 1286 shares advanced against a decline of 1336 shares, while 172 shares were unchanged. Reliance and Asian Paints were the top losers for the day, while Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra and Yes Bank gained the most.

Nifty and Sensex erase the morning gains as weakness is seen across several sectors including Energy, Telecom, Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas sectors. IT Index gains by 1.5%, lead by HCL and Infosys, gaining by 2%. The S&P #BSE #Sensex is trading at 33,615, down by 115 points, while #NSE #Nifty is trading at 10,408 down by 43 points. The BSE #Midcap Index is trading down by 0.88% at 16,641.44 whereas BSE #Smallcap Index is trading down by 0.72% at 18,032.91. HCL, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra are among the gainers, whereas YES Bank, HPCL, BPCL, Indian Oil, and Indiabulls Housing Finance are losing steam on NSE. Some buying seen in IT and Capital Goods sectors, whereas Energy, Telecom, Consumer Durables, and Oil & Gas sectors show weakness on the BSE.
