Beep Beep!
Since 1989 when you hear those beeping sounds, the feeling is heaven, as they call the feeling of being elated to have these gadgets tucked in your waist.
We call it the "alphanumeric pagers" designed to send you a message. Businessmen, doctors, sales agent, and key company employees are the vast majority you see roaming around with these beepers.
You dial the 2548111, then a lady voice will say: Easycall number please? 309639. Message please? Then you say your message: "Nay padad-i ko ug usa ka sakong bugas ug usa ka dosenang itlog". (Mom send me 1 sack of rice and 1 dozen of eggs)
But those are memories of the past. The dead past. As that technology were snatched by the emerging SMS from the cellphone companies. The fact is, pagers will not co exist with text messages.
Sad to see, pagers such as Easycall in the Philippines is last seen only up to 1999.
The photo above is my Easycall pager I keep as a memorabilia for the dead past.
How true is the words of Apostle Paul in 1 Cor 7:29-31:
29 Moreover, this I say, brothers, the time left is reduced. Henceforth let those who have wives be as though they had none, 30 and also those who weep be as those who do not weep, and those who rejoice as those who do not rejoice, and those who buy as those not possessing, 31 and those making use of the world as those not using it to the full; for the scene of this world is changing.
Whats next on DSLR?
But Easycall company is still existing until today but they are not on paging industry. See their website:
