The Tech Challenge competition distinguishes it from many other science-based programs for youth in grades 5 through 12. The Roosevelt Roaring Commets launch a raw egg in a ziplock bag toward the asteroid.
It was a beautiful Chicago summer night as we hosted our Tech Cocktail Mixer & Speaker Series sponsored by Cars.com Speaker Series. Many packed the bar as we listened closely to Ben Huh of Cheezeburger and Talia Mashiach of Eved talk about their journey as entrepreneurs.
Shortly after, we transitioned to our mixer & startup showcase where we had 10 of Chicago's hottest startups compete for a chance to win their spot in a national startup competition at Tech Cocktail's Celebrate conference.
Startups that showcased were:
Caktus Music, Inc.
Fare Mechanic
Finom
Popular Pays LLC
Project Fixup
SchoolRush
Strados
SymGym
Whittl
Zoome
Congrats to Popular Pays for winning the Reader's Choice and Fare Mechanic for the Best Pitch! We hope to see you both at #CelebrateConf!

A Food Truck & Technology Event in Downtown Orlando
Trucks & Tech is a mashup of two cultures that we love – foodies and techies. This is the only event around that combines discussion from leaders in the Central Florida tech community with top local food trucks to fill attendees’ minds and stomachs with the best of the best. For Trucks & Tech II: Trucktoberfest we have added a twist! This Oktoberfest themed event will feature German inspired food from each food truck, an all new Startup Alley, a costume contest and beer boots galore. So bring your lawn chairs, blankets and German spirit for a night of tech, food and fun.

The Tech Fair at the Hillview Branch was an amazing success! We provided community resources, robotics, 3D printing stations, and each participating family received a free computer. An estimated 400 people visited!
A huge shout out to the Tech Exchange for making this possible and a big thank you to all of our partners:
