in the District Six museum, they have recreated an old District Six house. My mother freaked out when she walked in. 'But this is the house of my childhood' she exclaimed, transfixed by the candlewick beadspread and the brands in the kitchen cupboard.

The District Six Museum has a fantastic website, and I would encourage you all to look at it, and learn more about this fascinating and incredibly sad part of South African history.
