This sky blue teacup ring is the perfect accessory for a tea party with Alice and the Mad Hatter in Wonderland. A miniature pastel blue tea cup and saucer glows with cuteness upon an antiqued filigree ring. The teacup and saucer have delicate white floral designs. The ring band is adjustable, so you may size it to your liking.
Whether a mug, cup, or kettle
They plant blooms wherever they settle.
It could be a jar, a box or a shoe.
All we discard, they magically renew.
They use roses and daisies and violets too,
To make fairie treasures for me and for you.
The top and the skirt were knitted with Knitty's 'Blythe Gear' pattern.
The blank face gives her more plasticity.
This is a photo of my little doll placed in a China teacup. As an artist I have always enjoyed children's book illustrations and by placing a modern doll inside traditional tea set it was trying to achieve a piece that resembles a page from a story book. This is simply a photo of the decorative pieces around my apartment.

This one I took of Emmaleigh when she was 10 days old. I caught her in a startle. I had a blanket under her to prop her up otherwise she would have been completely inside of the cup.
A tea set I made as I surprise gift! Made with polymer clay, acrylic paint, wooden beads, wire and bead caps.
She has been sold, but you can check out more dolls by me in my etsy store MadeleineMai Studio!
Two sketches from last night. Had a wonderful catch up with Alissa and Chris - my Sydney friends who were at the symposium in BCN.
What an absolute treat it is for me this year to have friends to share with in an unrestrained way (a lot of other friends don't really understand what a USK event is all about!)… we can go nuts talking non stop and we all understand. SO many things still to compare notes on! Amazingly it was a month exactly since we were last together in BCN (we said goodbye to Alissa Monday morning 15 July and this was thursday evening Australian time 15 August …so a month almost to the hour!)
I am trying not to be so much of an obsessive sketcher these days so this means that I often don't bother attempt to sketch of every meal especially when I am with people - choosing rather to get the most of of the conversation and even amazing sketchbooks to look through (why sketch when you can look through Chris's and Alissa's amazing sketchbooks in real life??) But I still managed to do a quick sketch beforehand and then once home as a way of recording the event! I sketched the Queen Victoria Building at a rapid pace (reflecting the busy-ness of the cars, buses and people around me and the fading light) and then sketched my 'Barcelona Cup'... finding it hard to have the time for sketching just for me these days. I might start a mini series on this cup as it is very challenging to do in a quick way and I need some time to get to know it better!

Cup & saucer on a piece of scrapbook paper outside in the morning sun with a reflector for fill. It appears that there is liquid in the cup, but that effect happened in processing. Capture NX2 + Color Efex Pro3 - used Polaroid, Polarization, and Tonal Contrast filters for this effect.
