Mothers teach us about beauty. When we are small children they are the most beautiful woman in the world. We discover the world through what they show us and learn about beauty through their eyes. Through our mother's belief in us we learn to find beauty in ourselves and others. Then the cycle completes as we become mothers and see the beauty in our own children and strive to show them what is beautiful in the world.

The trees we find along the Bruce Trail have incredible root systems that often cling onto mainly rock. Some of them are as old as 300-400 years old. It is a wonder how they hang on and survive many storms. This tree is not quite that old and it leans over the river that flows over one of our local waterfalls. The root system is still very impressive. We all need to help each other stay rooted. Have a great weekend.
There's something about the way a flower opens itself up to the world. It puts it all out there, beauty, colour, pollen, nectar...everything it has and everything it is. It's all there for us to see and enjoy, take it or leave it, no admission charge or viewing fee.
Open, vulnerable, generous, happy. There's plenty here for me to learn :)

These are the words from Wreaths Across America's (WAA) website noted as "Our Mission". And, it is clearly observed in their commitment to the soldiers buried across the country in the many "national cemetery's" with the wreaths placed against the headstones. However, this is just one of the many ways that WAA remembers, honors, and teaches the next generation about our fallen. Additionally, the location of the photograph above is the Nashville National Cemetery in Madison, Tennessee (just north of Downtown Nashville) which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). More information about this "national cemetery" can be found here:
