Welcome to Edinburgh.

No !, not the Scottish one but the one in Ceylon.

There is this wonderful world of tea in Sri Lanka, where history and flavor blend together like a perfectly steeped "cuppa". Just like a good cup of tea, let's dive right in and explore the fascinating journey of this aromatic beverage in the beautiful island nation.

Sri Lanka, known for its lush landscapes and breathtaking scenery, has been a tea paradise for centuries. The history of tea cultivation in Sri Lanka can be traced back to the 1860s when British planters introduced the first tea plants to the region. They did not succeed too well and had to get specialists from the Assam tea plantations to make it scientific and fool proof. Little did they know that this humble introduction would pave the way for Sri Lanka to become one of the largest exporters of tea in the world.

Nuwara Eliya, often dubbed as "Little England," is a picturesque hill station nestled amidst misty mountains. It is here that you'll find some of Sri Lanka's finest teas. The cool climate and fertile soil create optimal conditions for growing high-quality leaves that are sought after by tea enthusiasts worldwide.

As you sip on your steaming cup of Ceylon tea, also known as Sri Lankan tea, you'll experience a burst of flavors ranging from delicate and floral to bold and robust – each sip transporting you to the sun-kissed rolling hills where it was cultivated with love.

So whether you're a connoisseur looking to expand your collection or simply someone who enjoys a comforting cuppa at any time of day, exploring the world of Sri Lankan tea is an adventure worth embarking on. From its rich history to its enchanting locations like Nuwara Eliya, there's something truly special about experiencing this beloved beverage in its natural habitat.

So go ahead, take a break from your busy day and indulge in a little taste of Sri Lankan charm with every sip. It's time to let your taste buds embark on an unforgettable journey through flavors as vibrant as the island itself. Cheers!

A glass of tea. The way I am celebrating moments and slowing down the daily pace.

I am not drinking coffee anymore, I think I was addicted to it, having 3 or more cups daily. I feel better, physically, with a tea.

Picture sooc, used newly programmed recipe from FXWeekly.

This morning I saved a set of recipes on the X-Pro1, little later on X-E2. Will do the same on X-T2 and fill some slots with various settings. That's refreshing way of taking pictures.

Some interesting haze which I think was caused by the burning of and cool morning temperatures.

A rare bee sighting in January, parking itself on the table outside while we had tea.

Afternoon tea in the luxurious surroundings of the Victoria Falls Hotel, perhaps Zimbabwe's finest establshment. This was a surprise birthday present to me from someone whom I only know from social media - I just got a Facebook message when I was walking through town!

We have had some hot, strong, sunlight this week so I attempted the Macro Mondays challenge - this shows part of a cylindrical tea strainer, about an inch of it, so I reckon the area covered here in width is OK for the MM rules. If it isn't, I have something else in reserve.

I have some stale tea bags that I was going to dispose of but have decided to use them as subjects for the next week. I tried to fill in the strong shadow for the tea cup but feel like I blew out the two tea bags below it too. Also, I would tweak the tea cup and letters a smidge.

News on the puppy decision, we are holding off for a while. After some real self examination I know I am not ready yet for the ups and downs of pet ownership. My daughter and husband are disappointed but we have an understanding and made an agreement to get one for my daughter’s eighth birthday next year. We will all have time to get it together and hopefully I’ll recover from the last one.

I used to think the iced tea at Hardees you would get with the fried chicken meal was the greatest drink ever. Now its just wayy too sickly sweet.

The Azores Islands grow both tea and coffee.

This tea sign was spotted on my trip in Hang Zhou last summer. Mei Jia Wu is the place producing Long Jing Tea (Dragon Well tea), my favorite green tea. The very best quality Dragon Well is picked in early spring (late March/early April). The making of Dragon Well tea is a unique, labor-intensive process that demands great skill from the tea maker. About 30,000 hand-plucked young tea shoots are required to make just one pound of finished tea.

Macro Mondays: Tableware

This cute little Playmobil table was exactly 7.7 long, so I cropped it a little (I mean I cropped the picture, not the table). I was sorry to do it because it is a very cute, elegant table with pretty chairs. But the tea set is adorable too, although I couldn't find the second spoon or the sugar pot. A lot of things happen in my mum's Playmobil house when my nieces and nephew visit, and it can be quite messy. There is a squirrel in the baby bed, foxes on the roof, mini Playmobil toys everywhere and, I'm afraid to say, I found a Playmobil wife beating her Playmobil husband with a frying pan and rolling pin. Maybe he had stolen the remaining spoons?

Party girls don't get hurt

Can't feel anything, when will I learn

I push it down, push it down

I'm the one "for a good time call"

Phone's blowin' up, ringin' my doorbell

I feel the love, feel the love

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier

From the chandelier

I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist

Like it doesn't exist

I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night

Feel my tears as they dry

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier

From the chandelier

The green tea bag is sitting inside the inner part of the glass cup, sitting on top of a mirror. Card was slanted across the top of the cup so as not to reflect anything above through the mirror, with a light directly above the cup too so as to highlight more of the color of the tea green tea bag.

I’m back more-or-less. I managed to throw out my back. It’s getting better, but if I disappear again for a day to two, you’ll know that’s why.

Did you know many traditional Chinese tea ceremonies include tea pets, little figurines that are meant to bring good luck of various kinds, according to what they represent? You nourish the ‘pets’ by pouring any left-over tea on them.

I discovered this tiny tea salon in downtown Palo Alto just recently. The tea itself was delicious, but the food was just okay (check out that tired looking smoked salmon) and the service was very slow and inattentive even though I was the only customer. It's worth a second try, though. Perhaps the salon functions more smoothly during peak business hours.

I'll make my rounds later today; I've got 2 little goblins to attend to. They both have their school Halloween parades today. Happy Friday!
