Task Force Odin honored Soldiers assigned to Task Force Thor, Task Force Raven, and Task Force Longhorn on Veterans Day with a formal patching ceremony held at its headquarters on Bagram Airfield. Soldiers from the Fredericksburg-based 116th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 116th Brigade Combat Team take part in the "Warrior Stakes" training event Sept. 20 at Fort Pickett during the unit's two-week annual training period. The training event kicked off with Soldiers organized into three-person teams navigating obstacles on the Fort Pickett Air Assault Obstacle Course, followed by stations where they were evaluated on a number of different Army Warrior Tasks. The stations included putting a radio into operation, chemical and biological agent protection, M249 machine gun assembly and disassembly, basic map skills and reacting to enemy contact. Elizabeth Davis, CJTF HOA’s Sexual Assault Response Coordinator recognized Task Force Iron Gray victim advocates of the Army’s Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program for their dedication to readiness and efforts to end sexual harassment and sexual assault, at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Dec. 20, 2021.
The SHARP program is the Army’s proactive effort to end sexual assault and sexual harassment within its ranks. Victim advocates help with victim reporting, and support prevention, training and awareness efforts.

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Lexington-based Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team receive the Virginia Governor’s National Service Medal during a ceremony Jan. 21, 2023, in Lexington, Virginia. Col. Todd Hubbard, Virginia Army National Guard Chief of Staff, presented the awards and also thanked the Soldiers for their service. The Soldiers were part of more than 1,000 Virginia and Kentucky National Guard Soldiers who mobilized as Task Force Red Dragon, and they conducted a security mission for Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa from November 2021 through September 2022. The Virginia Governor's National Service Medal recognizes the service of the men and women of the Virginia Army and Air National Guard called to active federal duty since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
