Last on our trek for the day was Oneonta Gorge. It was busy enough that someone had taken it upon themselves to do a bit of rock balancing. The falls remain off limits since the Eagle Creek Fire. While it could be argued it might be best without the foot traffic for a while, it's hard not to want to revisit one of the most beautiful spots in the NW.

Getting my stockings perfect is a delicate feminine task that I love to do. Oh well, I guess you know me ;-)
"An army marches on its stomach." The combined mess (dining facility) is build for the special operations task force only, and it has a dining hall, a TV room, a coffee room, a small gym, and a fire pit outside.
Task Force members enjoying their meals at the dining hall.
How deep the tenderness that yearns
Within the silent wood that turns
From green to gold, and slowly burns
As by some inward fire!
How dear the sense that all things wild
Have been at last by love beguiled
To join one chorus, reconciled....

Langston & Tasker bought 7 of these ex Metroline Presidents for Royal Latin school work, VPL144/146/169/???/194/196/234 which carry the fleet numbers 5 to 11. Five were seen in fifteen minutes leaving Royal Latin, plus the two Olympians and three coaches. Just a shame they are completely plain white.
i had these two pix along time ago ,, but couldn't make the idea the way i wanted ...
but with a friend's help ,, everything went the way i wanted ..
"thank u " :)
A task force was assaulting a cave complex and just as the operators made entry, a loud burst of machine gun fire came from a bunker inside the cave. The operators immediately got to cover. As a steady sound of gunfire streamed from the cave, the task force commander radioed the SBF position for support.
The SBF fired a bunker defeat munition and quickly destroyed the machine gun emplacement, clearing the way for the assault team to make entry.

The Lake Huron beach scene and sky -- not the fisherman on the right, in up to nearly his waist -- were the subject of this photo when I snapped it, but the fisherman added some further interest; whether or not he caught any fish, he had a beautiful place to spend the evening. This is from my archives, taken eight years ago, but just re-edited in Lightroom. I continue to spend most of my photography time organizing my digital photos in Lightroom; all have been imported, and I've made a lot of headway in getting keywords, captions, and locations added, but the task will not be completed anytime soon (if ever). Perhaps fortunately, from this standpoint, we were stuck in a gloomy weather spell for several days, and this week I've been bothered by very sore feet (much better today, Friday), so I haven't been adding to my photo backlog. The location of this image is south of Tawas City, Michigan, near the Singing Bridge public access area.

“I’m guessing at this point you’re all wondering why you’re here…”
You bloody well know I’m a wondering!
“Calm down Captain…all will be explained…
You’ve all been brought here out of incarceration for a purpose. Our benefactor is forming a team, a special team…a team which can do the jobs others can’t or morally won’t…and this team has been formed with the best people for the job in mind…
George Harkness…aka Captain Boomerang…expert marksman and inventor…
Garfield Lynns…Firefly…world renowned arsonist and killer…
Bette Sans Souci…Plastique…explosives assassin and demolition expert…
…Coco…
…and Temple Fugate…the Clock King…our master planner…
Welcome to Task Force X everyone…we, our benefactor, brought you out of jail for this team…and we expect you to be in for 5 years…”
Five years!
“Yes…five…think about leaving and the bombs go off…yes, we’ve placed a small bomb at the top of each of your spinal cords…flee, disobey, or fail…and that’s going off.”
…
Now that I’ve got you’re complete attention…our benefactor has supplied us with our first mission…assassinate Lex Luthor…”

The Task
Giant Golden Orb Weaver - Nephila pilipes
A male of the species Nephila pilipes assesses the task ahead as he moves closer in an attempt to court the sizable female.
As I watched his progress, he began his show to try and impress the female. Initially everything seemed to be going well.
But, within seconds, the female launched herself towards the male, sending him scampering back to the outer realms of her web. A lucky escape.
Since departed the fleet for scrap, 36081 and 36082 were the initial buses tasked with the Exmoor Coaster, acquired from Lothian who had used them on their short-lived East Coast Tours. I certainly regret not coming down when these were first introduced on the route, but nonetheless getting 1 is better than none!
