A Snowy Egret surprises a Roseate Spoonbill as he wanders down the culvert. I don't think I've seen a Roseate react that fast to something that wasn't food!
Sandhill Cranes are impressively powerful birds. While generally quite peaceful, the adults will protect their young fiercely and they're strong enough to pierce the skulls of predators with their beaks. So, when this individual came up to us while birding, it was a little intimidating to lock eyes so close like this.
