Quidam ha debuttato sotto il tendone ad aprile 1996 a Montreal. Da allora, la produzione ha visitato cinque continenti ed ha emozionato milioni di persone. Cast
The cast of Quidam has over 50 acrobats, musicians, singers, and characters, some of which are detailed below.
Zoé: She is the principal character in Quidam. Although average in nature, she longs for excitement.
Father: Completely, though unwittingly, self-absorbed. His white shoes are the only indication of a hidden personality.
Mother: Conveys an air of absence and alienation. Inside her lie fear, frustration, and desire.
Quidam: The show's titular character, who is anonymous, everyone, and no one. He may have stepped out of a surrealist painting or been conjured up out of Zoé's imagination.
John: Part game-show host and part substitute teacher who is the guide through the world of Quidam. Also is represented as a father figure to Zoé hence him stepping into her father's shoes.
Target: A living human bullseye fired at by everyone but is always smiling.
Chiennes Blanches: The silent chorus, the nameless and the faceless, the dehumanized, mechanical crowd, simultaneously leading and following. They also accompany the principal characters as they make their entrances and exits.
Boum-Boum: Enjoys screaming at the audience and walking away proudly, but will run away if an audience member screams back.
Rabbit: A minor character who chases and gets chased by other characters.
Aviator: A character who has skeletal wings who looks like he is not ready to take off.
Les Égarés: Lost individuals who gather together in the streets and abandoned buildings of Quidam. They perform in the banquine act.
Acts
Quidam combines a mix of acrobatic skills and traditional circus acts.
German Wheel: An acrobat performs tricks within a German wheel.
Diabolo: A performer manipulates diabolos (i.e., Chinese yo-yo), which are two sticks linked by a string on which a wooden spool balances.
Aerial contortion in silk: Intensity, power and grace combine when a young woman becomes one with the column of red fabric which supports and cradles her.
Skipping ropes: Drawing inspiration from dance, acrobatics, and the art of manipulation, a group of 20 acrobats performs this familiar child's game in a steady stream of solo, duo, and group jumps and figures.
Aerial hoops: Two performers use hoops attached to the ceiling to perform tricks.
Handbalancing: Using strength and balance, a performer contorts into poses while on balancing canes.
Spanish webs: Artists fly over the stage, attached to trolleys on the overhead tracks. In turn or as a group, they occasionally perform a sudden drop, stopped only by the ropes looped around their waists or ankles.
Statue: Never losing contact, two strong, flexible performers move almost imperceptibly, assuming positions impossible without an impeccable sense of balance.
Banquine: An Italian acrobatic tradition going back to the Middle Ages that combines gymnastics and ballet. Showcasing the agility of the human body, up to 15 artists perform sequences of feats and human pyramids with their perfectly synchronized movements.
Juggling: Up to five balls fly through the air, with additional manipulation of a briefcase, umbrella, and bowler hat.

Monday 29 July 2013 saw Greater Manchester Police’s Stockport Division launch Operation Whistler.
The operation, which is running across all of Stockport for the next three months, is targeting theft related offences and will see a crackdown on burglary, car theft, shoplifting and a range of other crimes.
The first day saw a range of activities including a street briefing and high profile patrolling in the Heaton Moor area.
The objectives of Operation Whistler are:
•To reduce victim related crime
•To gather intelligence and target offenders
•To offer crime reduction advice
The Stockport Division are look for the public to assist in Operation Whistler by:
•Telling us about those committing crime in your area
•Looking out for suspicious people and vehicles in your community

Goodwill Retail Operations Center (118,356 square feet)

Opened June 5th, 2013; originally Target (July 24th, 1996-July 21st, 2009)
One of Hampton Roads' original Target locations started out in this standalone building back in 1996 (the other was and still is in Chesapeake). The development of Peninsula Town Center in the late 2000s gave them an opportunity to move and expand amongst other new retailers, so off they went and left this space sitting vacant for a little over three years until Goodwill showed interest in it. They divided the place into about four different areas: their typical retail store, an outlet store where you have to dig through bins of retail store rejects and buy the junk by the pound, a computer store seen in this photo towards the left (the former location of customer service; to the right was the café), and an employment center/offices. Aside from some things in this entryway and the ceiling tile/light arrangements throughout, there aren't too many Target relics to be found here.

Community Yard Sale draws bargain hunters

CAMP HUMPHREYS – In the military, the summer season is the time when most Families usually move to another duty station on a permanent change of station, or PCS.
To help those folks lighten their load a bit, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s Outdoor Rec offers Community Yard Sales, held in the Commissary parking lot. At the most recent yard sale, July 7, a number of items were available, including adult and children’s clothes, toys, movies, and more.
“It’s exciting for us to see people doing what they want to do,” said Lawrence Flowers, a program manager for Outdoor Rec. “It is great for us because we get first dibs,” he added, joking.
“It is for the community, and for people who are PCSing and want to sell (their) items,” added Kim, Se-yong, a recreation specialist for Outdoor Rec.
Although the primary focus of the event is to help those about to PCS, there are others who have reasons for joining the activity.
“We are just having a yard sale to sell a couple of our things and take donations for a family friend, who passed away two days ago,” said Sgt. Adam Vanderkin, assigned to Company B, 602nd Aviation Support Battalion.
Shopper Shawna Cox said, “It’s a good time for the community to get together and help each other out.”
The next yard sale is scheduled for Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $10 for a spot and table and $10 for an awning. For those within a 60-day window of PCSing (with orders), the cost is $5 for a spot and table. For more information, call 753-3013.

As Julie and I walked from our car to the elevator at the West Hollywood Target, we heard a series of metallic noises. I looked up to see this SUV smash into other cars and then hit the concrete pylon so hard that the back flew up and then smashed down to the ground.
We ran over to see if anyone was hurt but people appeared to be out of their cars trying to figure out what happened. The security guards seemed to have everything under control and we could already hear the sirens of police cars and fire trucks on their way.
I dug around on the LA Times web site and local blogs to see if there was any explanation of what happened. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything. I hope nobody was seriously injured.
Winnipeg will welcome another high-profile retailer to town when Target opens a pair of stores on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.
The Minneapolis-based company will cut the ribbon on locations at Kildonan Place Shopping Centre and Southdale Centre, as well as at Shoppers Mall in Brandon. Another store at Grant Park Shopping Centre is scheduled to open this fall or winter.
The Manitoba stores are part of a national roll-out that will see 124 Target locations open across the country this year.
Derek Jenkins, senior vice-president at Target, said he’s not sure what kind of crowds to expect in Winnipeg – a city notorious for going crazy for new store openings – but the staff is prepared to handle whatever throng might show up before the 8 a.m. opening.

23 people have been arrested following an operation to target suspected criminals involved in the trafficking and supply of large amounts of Class A drugs.
Today, 27 March 2013, officers from the Oldham Organised Crime Unit together with the Cleveland Organised Crime Unit carried out a number of warrants in the Greater Manchester and Cleveland area.
In Greater Manchester, 11 warrants were executed and 12 people, nine men and three women, have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and money laundering and remain in police custody for questioning.
A further 11 arrests were made in the Cleveland area.
The warrants in Greater Manchester took place across the Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside areas and follows months of work by the two Forces to target those suspected of being involved in the Class A drugs trade.
In the last 12 months, the Oldham Organised Crime Team have made numerous arrests and recovered up to a quarter of a million pounds in cash and drugs and mixing agents worth more than £3m.
Chief Superintendent Catherine Hankinson said: "These arrests mark the culmination of months of work between ourselves and police in Cleveland to target those suspected of flooding the streets of Greater Manchester with Class A drugs.
"They are the latest in a string in operations we have been running in Oldham over the past year to target all those involved in blighting our communities with the sale and importation of drugs.
"This action is a response to what residents are telling us time and time again, which is to see these people taken off the streets and stop drugs from causing harm. In the last 12 months we have made huge inroads into tackling this problem by seizing up to £3m worth of drugs but we know we have more work to do.
"We will continue to target criminals who line their pockets by peddling drugs, and using Proceeds of Crime Act legislation we can also seize their assets that all too often are paid for out of drug money.
"None of this would be possible without the help and support of the local community, and their information is absolutely vital to us. We see this very much as a partnership and I would continue to encourage people to report any suspicious behaviour to us or any concerns you have, and together we can continue to strike back against drug dealers."

Participants of the 2014 Governor's 20 sniper competition prepare to engage targets 300 meters away at Camp Swift, near Austin, Texas, on Saturday, January 11, 2014. The "Governor's 20" competition is an annual event testing service members' skills with the rifle, pistol, sniper rifle, and light machine gun. This portion of the four-part shooting match involves snipers shooting traditional silhouette targets. An additional challenge comes in the form of a poker match where snipers had to shoot through playing cards as they chose their hand to score the most points. The competitors work in two-man teams; one as sniper and one as spotter who helps the sniper perfect his aim. At the end of the three-day competition, two snipers will receive the Governor's Twenty Tab, a state-level National Guard award given to the top 20 shooters in a state, and will continue on to a national competition in Arkansas later this year. In addition to the two tabs available for the state's top snipers, Texas Soldiers and Airmen can compete for eight rifle tabs, eight pistol tabs, and two light machine gun tabs every year.
