How often do you have fog in your town? We are having another gloomy start here in Chicago but we are determined not to let that ruin our mood. What I’m happy for is the fact that fog season is on again and hopefully we will be able to catch some of that like the last year! What do you think?

oak tree, in my front garden. high key development gives this a wintry look. it isn't snowing here (never has), but we do what we can to experience the season in a more traditional way ...

then we put on our swimsuits and head for the beach.

I recently started to investigate a local photography club and they very quickly challenged me to start being creative again. The challenge for March was tangles. I got my trusty macro on the camera and this is what I came up with.

"Oh what tangled webs we weave, when first we practise to deceive."

I poked my camera into the tangled mess that is the hazelnut tree. The late afternoon sun was piercing the centre of it and it looked an interesting subject for a photo. I originally set out to photograph the new fresh green catkins but got diverted by the tangling although (for what it's worth) you can see a blurry catkin top left. I like the abstracty look of it all and especially the very centre of the photo which looks like a cartoon drawing. Of what, I don't know?

A stray fragment of Spanish Moss,Tillandsia usneoides, tangled in spider silk.

After months of mild tepid weather our world was turned upside down in a flash. A wild and wooly arctic storm barreled through last night with ferocious winds and low snow levels. We were quite cozy indoors with our homemade soup and a fresh loaf of bread---and then the power went out. This morning, the snow continues as does our lack of power. The image shows the other side of our road from last winter, but this is basically what our world looks like today, with even more snow. Maybe I'll bundle up and head out for some new pics.

The world sits between winter and spring, caught in a restless in-between where frost lingers on the tangled ivy, and the first shy buds push through damp earth. The evergreens stand overgrown, their branches heavy with the weight of seasons past, while the garden—wild and unkempt—refuses to be tamed, a riot of brambles, forgotten herbs, and stubborn roses climbing the weathered cottage walls. Moss clings to the stone path, and the air hums with the promise of warmth, though the wind still carries a bite, a whispered reminder that winter has not yet fully let go.

This is one of the most famous roads in Romania, and is frequented every year from June to October by million of tourists seeking for adventure and natural beauty. In October they close the road due to weather conditions.

Anyway, one of the best views out there.

Hope you like it, enjoy!

Tangle Falls alone the icefield parkway in Jasper National Park.

Being located right beside the highway, this waterfall is very easy to access.

Driving the Icefield parkway you will stumble across Tangle falls. There are no signs and the parking lot is across the highway. Be careful crossing as cars come up on you quickly.

Acadia National Park along the Jordan Pond Trail. One side of the pond is nice and easy trail, but as you circle there are a few areas of rock scramble where you wonder if you somehow missed the trail. Beyond the rocks is a narrow elevated walkway to protect the delicate plant life. Dark tangled roots help create a somewhat eerie atmosphere, like you’ve wandered in to a fairy tail and forgot your breadcrumbs (rather like 2020).
