"Amber brings a light hearted freedom, good luck and happiness. Amber contains strong vibrations that purify and cleanse the whole being."
this is a ring i've had for many years, i felt particularly drawn to it when i was soul searching for my word this year.
when i looked up it's meaning, i sent out a prayer of gratitude.

i welcome all the help the universe sends my way.
I like the way the sunlight brings out the shades of green in this jade circle. The piece was bought a few years ago during my trip to the Yucatan Peninsula and Guatemala. Many cultures attribute jade with the ability to bring good luck. For a while I wore it as a necklace, but now it hangs from the rearview mirror of the Toyota Sienna that I drive. Before, it was hidden beneath my shirt and now I can see it on a regular basis. I find this to be an improvement.

Talismanic: Meaning, to accomplish, or bring into effect. The Talismans are objects marked with magic signs and is believed to confer on its bearer supernatural powers or protection.
Here Talisman is Hunza, that mostly remains covered under the sacred gown of snow in winter, when unwraps, its sensuous hilly contour and the luxurious vegetation become a magnet. The lands of fairy tales, where the snowcapped hills stood high to higher limits. Gigantic mountains that have stretched over an area of 110 kilometers surround the valley. The terrain is full of variety with diversity in the heights of the peaks of 1500 meters to 8000 meters.
As one travels up on the Karakorum Highway, the beautiful sceneries keep on revealing themselves. On the way one can witness the 65 km long 'Batura' glacier, the second longest in Pakistan, surround by Shishper, Batura and Kumpirdior peaks. As much as the valley is famous for its beauty, the people of Hunza are noted for their friendliness and hospitality.
So whether you are a culture shark, an adrenaline junkie, or simply in need of a stress-free time. Whatever you may be, you just can't get out of the Talismanic effect of Hunza

A stereographic Forest Dome Panorama made with Hugin from 27 individual shots, of which 17 ended up being used because some shots had way too much overlap. It has a roughly 215° opening angle.
The original had a resolution of 1396 megapixels (a 3.4 GiB TIFF file), but I had to scale it down in order to handle postprocessing for the colors in Photoshop. This version, in comparison, is a 'mere' 667 megapixels.
