Each looking for his own kind of treasure; the man maybe looking for lost money or jewelry, the gull probably looking for something to eat.

……We’ve a bag of pre-decimal coins of various denominations that belonged to my father - quite why he kept them isn’t known, perhaps he thought they’d be worth something in the future?! I do remember him always checking the dates and saving specific ones. The Chest isn’t old but fitted the ‘Treasured’ theme perfectly I thought - you may be interested to know that in total here was just £3, 16 shillings and 6 pence so basically not a Treasure trove but it’s still ‘Treasured’ by me. HMM …… Alan:-) btw a Shilling is 23.6mm in diameter so less than 1 inch - it became a 5p piece post decimalisation………

My eldest daughter's first tiny little leather booties. I have lost so many of my belongings over a number of international moves but a few things are still with me to treasure. One of those are these booties. So cute and still in very good condition. For Macro Mondays the theme is 'treasured'. Happy Macro Mondays/ HMM

This flock of Brown pelicans were seen over San Francisco Bay from the end of Pier 14 in San Francisco. The SF - Oakland Bay Bridge Treasure Island are immediately behind them, and the Port of Oakland and Oakland Hills are further back.

Reflections of the display of the Tang dynasty sunken ship treasures seen on a column with a mirrored finish.

For many years I walked underneath this Persian Silk tree, marveling at the flowers filling the branches. One fortunate day I found the ground littered with the pink bursts of color. Lucky me!

From a short visit to this little hidden treasure I found in Jotunheimen National park a few weeks ago! I have had a special focus on adding to my «Artwork of nature» series this autumn and I believe this photo fits into the series Hope you like the photo!

My first watch was an Oris watch bought by my Mum when I was 18. My parents didn't have a lot of money but Mum made sure we were always fed and clothed well, so a watch for my 18 was a special treat. When I was 21 she bought me a beautiful Tissot watch which lasted quite a while. Mum always wanted me to have a lovely watch. Her Brother bought her a beautiful gold Omega watch for looking after him when he lived with us for 6 years and she treasured it. She always wanted me to have one but couldn't afford to buy me one. She started to save up as she grew older and said to me that one day I would be able to treat myself to a nice watch if she could save up enough money. When Mum passed away she left me and my Sister a small amount of money. I always remembered that she wanted me to have a lovely watch so I bought this beautiful timepiece, something that I love and will treasure forever.

Not all treasure is silver and gold!

A chest full of handblown glass baubles and shiny coins are the dreams of all treasure hunters everywhere. The last thing you hope to see are octopus tentacles guarding the bounty.

These are letters were written to my mother-in-law while she was in the hospital when her first child was born ..78 years ago! In those days, mothers stayed in the hospital for well over a week!! How times have changed!!

Wishing everyone a good weekend and thanks so much for your visits.

Another view of Charles Island from this past spring. Charles Island is famous for being a 'treasure' Island. The longstanding legend is that in 1699 Captain Kidd, on his last voyage before being lured into a trap and executed, buried part of his treasure on the island. No booty has ever been found and the 14 acre island has no residents and is a bird sanctuary. The island is accessible by a sandbar that appears at low tide.

All that glisters .. .. Actually tumbled plastic tinsel.

Sideways look at the liquid filled container on the end of a toy kaleidoscope. It’s filled with tiny coloured bits and pieces that form beautiful patterns (see comment below) when reflected by the ‘scope’s mirrors.

FOV is 0.9 inches. The ribbed plastic container provided the blurring.
