Located within the Heritage Park at Port Kembla, these tank traps date back to WWII, where they were scattered along the coast in and around Port Kembla to protect the harbour from invasion by the Japanese. This area was deemed a possible point of access for the foreign troops after the capture of Singapore, as it was close to the city of Wollongong and our industrial centres located in Port Kembla.
Trapped inside this train, with no way out. Who will save me?
Model is my friend Mercedes. Took this on our photography class photo safari.
we nearly ran out of gas. it was all feeney's fault. there was a little stress. north of ashland let's say 60 miles.
we found a station in a town i dubbed "let's-get-killed, oregon". meth-locals eyed us, and the two-pump station was "out of gas". we beat a hasty retreat.
finally an exit with a real-looking gas station. we get off I5, and instead of an obvious way to get to the other side of the highway, we found the TRUCK TRAP. we were running on fumes, and so was the chevy.
feeney gave the oregon full-service-gas-station-dude the pick of any donut from our box from voodoo. he picked the one everyone wanted but had been too polite to grab. what a chump.

With photography we capture moments, trap time if you will. The camera is a sort of a prison from which time cannot escape.

This is similar to the traps which were used in Vietnam to kill soldiers, though those had sharpened bamboo protruding from all directions to kill the soldiers.
This is one of the four traps I recovered from Dahan Shan (there were markers left by poachers showing the position of quite a few more that we couldn't find). One of them had a ferret badger in it that we released, and another had the foot and feathers of a swinhoe's pheasant that a predator had clearly been pleased to discover.
All four were subsequently smashed up and taken to be recycled.

Trapping mammal pests is an important part of conservation in New Zealand. Before humans arrived about 1000 years ago, the only land mammals were three species of bat. This is why many of the native birds are flightless or ground-nesting and are now in serious decline due to predation by rats, stoats and other introduced species. Pigeon Island and Pig Island are pest-free but traps are still needed as a precaution since stoats can swim some distance.
We thought we had a mouse so we set up a CCTV camera in the loft...
We have a rat in the loft... I bought a live catch trap so that I could catch him and release him in the woods but he is a clever rat and still lives in our loft.
We call him rattus rattus
UPDATE:
He/she is still living in the loft ...so wily
