Transmutation invites us to reflect on what would happen if we brought back extinct species through genetic cloning. In this exercise, the artists Arturo Gonzalez and Maru Izaguirre question whether it is ethical to play at being gods and whether this return of extinct species, such as the sabre-toothed tiger, will give rise to new beings created by man.
Transmutation is a larger-than-life manifestation of the brightly coloured Mexican folk art sculptures called Alebrijes. Alebrijes traditionally feature mythical creatures that combine elements of several different animals. The skeleton of this creature is made of fibreglass and metal, while the outside is adorned with traditional Mexican patterns in acrylic and fluorescent paint.

“This world then is word, expression, news of God. Therefore its end, its purpose, its purport, its meaning, is God and its life or work to name and praise him. . . . The world, [and] man, should after its own manner give God being in return for the being he has given it or should give him back that being he has given.”5 So Gerard had written, once. And so he now did. Dust to dust. Dust transmuted to diamond.

There has been so little snow this year...and, so the marshland glistens beneath the season's pallid, silver sun. The grasses wave gently, hiding what goes on below-the slow transmutation of matter and energy from one form to another.
This season's shining, fluttering heads are sure to join the tiny carcasses amid the mire, consecrated by the ages; slowly pressed into mould by the weight of laughing snowflakes.
This is a close-up B&W photo of the creased folds in a plastic bag. I love the fortuitous visual alchemy of this image. The prosaic subject matter becomes transmuted into an imaginary landscape - an aquatic kelp forest, or plasma filaments on the surface of the sun. As one's eye scans over the image, it's surprising and magical to find partially concealed pareidolia faces peering out from between some of the filaments.
What’s The Spiritual Meaning of the Flower Moon?
According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the Flower Moon gets its name from the beautiful blossoming flowers that spring is so well known for. The flora-inspired name is attributed to the Algonquin people, though the lunar event may also be referred to as the Budding Moon or Planting Moon.
As for how this lunation will affect the eclipse, Samay shares: “When a lunar eclipse occurs in Scorpio, it can bring about an intense karmic shift towards our psyche, finances, sexuality, and willpower. This means full disclosure and exposure will take place in ‘errors’ of the past.”
Some areas of your life that will likely need reevaluating during this time include finances, power dynamics, and even hygiene, per the astrologer. “Expect to see discussions on political power struggles, or hidden agendas in the collective consciousness,” Samay shares. But don’t expect the days leading up to May 5 to be packed with life-changing events, because according to Samay, the effects of an eclipse can be seen “two weeks to two months before and after the fated date.” In other words: get ready for miracles and unexpected shake-ups all throughout May.
How To Work With The Full Flower Moon’s Energy
As you can probably tell, there’s going to be a lot of energy surrounding this full Flower Moon. Samay shares three tips on how to work with la luna’s power that will not only help keep you grounded but will prepare you for what’s to come, too.
The first thing the astrologer suggests for this eclipse is to make a full moon offering. “Choose an object or symbol that represents your spiritual goals or intentions, such as a crystal or a piece of jewelry,” explains Samay. “Place the object outside under the moonlight as an offering to the divine. This act of surrendering something of value can help you let go of attachment and open yourself up to the transformative power of the full moon.”
Because water is a “powerful element that is associated with emotions and intuition,” another way to build your spiritual connection with la luna is by taking a full moon bath, according to Samay. To do this, visualize the moon's energy washing over you while soaking in the moonlight as a way of cleansing any negative energy or emotions. “Use this time to set intentions for your spiritual growth and transformation,” says Samay.
Lastly, try not to shy away from the full moon’s energy, and instead embrace it. To do this, Samay recommends taking a moment to dance in the moonlight. “Play music that resonates with you and dance under the moonlight,” the astrologer suggests. “Allow yourself to move freely and express any emotions that come up. Through the evoking movement of dance, you can connect with the lunar symphonies to transmute any stagnant or stale energy into something beautiful and transformative.”
The most important thing to remember this lunation is to welcome every shift and emotional response you may encounter. Again, that’s easier said than done, but hopefully these tips will make the impending celestial event much more manageable.

"L'Orso è un animale lunare fortemente connesso alla magia del silenzio, quel luogo di pace interiore a cui tutti possono accedere e che consente di fermarsi e allontanare per il tempo necessario tutto ciò che è altro, che è esterno. ... [L'Orso] ci invita a trasmutare la solitudine in relazione consapevole con noi stessi."

"The Bear is a lunar animal strongly connected to the magic of silence, that place of inner peace that everyone can access and which allows you to stop and push away for the necessary time everything that is other, that is external. ... [ The Bear] invites us to transmute solitude into a conscious relationship with ourselves."

Dear friends,
hope you all are alright. I am still having a break in doing photos on a daily basis, cause this year I transmuted myself into a sort of student... studying and practicing devotional nonduality and the whole body of work of my spiritual teacher David R. Hawkins in a very intense way. I visited him twice this year and it was really transformative.

A medieval panel depicting “The Alchemist”.
The word alchemist comes from alchemy, which has origins in the Greek word khemeia, meaning "art of transmuting metals." Active since ancient times, alchemists could be considered very early chemists because of their work trying to transform base metals into gold. Alchemists could also be considered wizards because they attempted to make special elixirs that would give everlasting life and cure sickness.

In the modern age, a leisurely horse and carriage ride is but a romantic dalliance, a nostalgic echo of a bygone era when such transportation was the unremarkable norm. The clip-clop of hooves once resonated as the everyday soundtrack of bustling cities and quaint villages alike. Today, as we indulge in these antiquated modes of transport, one is prompted to ponder the commonplace routines of our present age that will, in turn, become the romanticized relics of the future. Will the hum of electric vehicles or the glow of smartphone screens, currently mundane fixtures, evoke a sense of longing for an era when such novelties were part of the everyday tapestry? As time weaves its intricate patterns, the mundane is transmuted into the extraordinary, and what we now take for granted may emerge as the cherished romance of generations yet to come.

A nearby former mansion, tumbled and splintered into multiple, simultaneous planes. A millennial Cubist view, a quantum view of many possibilities or potentials co-existenting all at once.
Note the life size bronze of a deer toward the upper right. The James Cooper mansion ( this house ) was bought from the Knights of Columbus by a condo developer who was respectful of the heritage of the house so they picked it up and moved it to be almost flush to the street. Veritably, a 'house in motion'. In the space vacated by the mansion, they put up a 32 storey condo tower. Not all developers are as respectful of heritage buildings or the neighbourhoods they build in. We got lucky. The deer was added as a sculpture along with two wolves and a couple of fawns around the front of the property. Indeed, the deer IS upside down, face down, tail up, mounted on a slab of polished metal. It's a great touch.
The title is inspired by a Talking Heads' song, "Houses in Motion". Here the house, indeed, seems to be 'in motion'. A state of transition? Transmutation? Transubstantiation? With David Bryne's multi-dimensional lyrics it's anyone's guess what the song might mean, but that might just be his point ... it can be many things at the same time. As he once said, "Stop Making Sense".

Tau Lewis’ hands-on process of making is committed to healing personal and collective traumas, especially in relation to histories and lived experiences within the African diaspora. In Symphony, reclaimed clothing and fabrics have been repurposed into an expressive portrait of a “mutable being devoid of gender, that can transmute into blossoms”. A clairvoyant spirit connecting geographies, souls and time, both earthly and ancestral, Symphony has eyes formed of seashells and arms welcoming in an open embrace. Reflecting on non-gendered motherhood and gardens as sources of knowledge and growth, the work envisions a world of radical care, self-reservation and resilience in which joy, freedom and triumphant love are nurtured and shared.
In the celebrated metropolis of London, during the year 1837, an era wherein steam reigned as the sovereign of invention and the harbinger of man's mastery over nature, there was convened a conclave of women unparalleled in their intellect and indomitable in their courage. The Aetherian Coalescence, they were titled, each a luminary in her own right, united under the banner of progress and the pursuit of the ethereal realms.
Lady Penelope Hargreaves, the scion of a lineage graced with the acumen of engineering, her hands adept at weaving the intricate lattices of clockwork that gave pulse to their airborne leviathan. Dr. Arabella Swithenbank, whose steam engines thrummed with a vigor that was the very essence of Prometheus’ fire. Miss Theodosia Barrow , an enchantress of the voltaic forces, her devices casting the brilliance of a thousand captured lightning bolts across the span of their craft. Dame Guinevere Loxley, the cartographer whose charts rivalled the celestial maps of the ancients, a guiding star in their odyssey. And Miss Isambard Brunella, a machinist of such deftness that her creations spoke of a harmony between the artisan's touch and the unyielding metals of the earth.
The vessel of their dreams, "The Celestial Peregrine," stood poised upon the cusp of dawn, her silhouette a testament to humanity's ascendancy over the bonds of gravity, her engines a symphony of steam and steel. As the first light of morning kissed the Thames, the airship ascended, a ballet of gears and gales, into the empyrean canvas above.
Yet, as is the wont of fate, the skies unveiled their tempestuous heart, challenging these daughters of Icarus with a squall of such ferocity that it seemed as though the firmament itself sought to reclaim its dominion from the hands of mortals. But amidst the maelstrom, the resolve of The Aetherian Coalescence shone with the steadfastness of the North Star, and it was by their unity and the fortitude of their creation that “The Celestial Peregrine” was guided safely through the tumult, descending not in wreckage upon the tumultuous sea but upon the embrace of the verdant earth with the grace of a nightingale alighting upon its nest.
From this odyssey emerged a revelation, a spark of genius that would illuminate the path of progress henceforth. They devised an apparatus, a marvel of valvular alchemy, which would render the steam engines of the future not only more robust against the caprices of the tempest but also more gracious in their consumption of the coals that fed them. This mechanism, born from the exigencies of their voyage, became the cornerstone of an epoch wherein the skies teemed with the silhouettes of airships, each a scion of "The Celestial Peregrine," carrying aloft not only the affluent but all who yearned for the splendor of the heavens.
Thus, The Aetherian Coalescence had not simply touched the skies; they had transmuted the very fabric of human aspiration, setting the celestial highways abuzz with the promise of adventures untold. It was a testament to the boundless potential when the ingenuity of the human spirit is applied to the realms of the possible, and it was in this spirit that the age of aerial travel flourished, under the watchful eyes of the five who had first chartered its course.
