Franz Liszt called one of his Transcendental studies for piano "Feux follets", referring to the mysterious flames in legendary tales which allegedly led travellers to their doom. Nothing that dramatic here, but nonetheless a stunning display of light from thousands of dewdrops and spider webs on the heather.

The book of love has music in it
In fact that's where music comes from
Some of it's just transcendental....
I love it when you sing to me
And you can sing me anything...

S’étant tourne, me fit la demande énergique
A. Rimbaud

According to traditional Astrology, Jupiter and Neptune together rule the oceans and seas.
Maybe you’ll find interesting the following text.. :)
Planet of Luck Jupiter is the thinking person's Planet. As the guardian of the abstract mind, this Planet rules higher learning and bestows upon us a yen for exploring ideas, both intellectually and spiritually. Intellectually speaking, Jupiter assists us in formulating our ideology. In the more spiritual realm, Jupiter lords over religions and philosophy. A search for the answers is what Jupiter proposes, and if it means spanning the globe to find them, well, that's probably why Jupiter also rules long-distance travel. In keeping with this theme, Jupiter compels us to assess our ethical and moral values; it also addresses our sense of optimism.
Luck and good fortune are associated with Jupiter for good reason. This is a kind and benevolent Planet, one which wants us to grow and flourish in a positive way. Jupiter may be judge and jury, but it's mostly an honorable helpmate, seeing to it that we're on the right path. While our success, accomplishments and prosperity are all within Jupiter's realm, this largely can, at times, deteriorate into laziness and sloth (Jupiter, at its worst, is associated with weight gain!). More often than not, however, Jupiter will guide us down the primrose path.
It takes Jupiter about twelve years to circle the Zodiac (the Planet visits an average of one Sign a year). It is masculine energy and rules both Sagittarius and Pisces and the Ninth and Twelfth Houses.
Neptune's glyph is the trident of Poseidon, God of the Seas. Much about this Planet is fluid (Neptune rules the oceans of the Earth), changeable and illusory in nature. Dreams, illusion, abstract thought and the mysterious are all governed by Neptune. Our spirituality is important to this Planet, and how we harness that energy for our personal betterment. Neptune invites us to let its energy wash over us and to use a meditative state to gain insights and heightened awareness. Poetry, music and dance are among the trance-like activities which this Planet favors.
It takes Neptune 165 years to complete its whirl around the Zodiac, spending roughly 14 years at each Sign. It is feminine energy and rules Pisces and the Twelfth House . Neptune is known as the higher octave of Venus and is the second of the transcendental Planets.

Muitos desses seres acabaram tendo filhos enquanto estavam escondidos no nosso planeta e para proteger as crianças desse futuro triste as escondiam e as abandonavam.
I knew I wanted to get to this location for sunset. I was shooting another scene from on top of a pile of rocks and was telling my patient wife that we should leave soon so as to get to this location. After climbing down off of the rocks I turned left and there it was... no need to go anywhere. I laughed pretty hard due to the fact that what I was looking for was right there next to me.
Shamanism is a practice that involves a practitioner reaching altered states of consciousness in order to perceive and interact with what they believe to be a spirit world and channel these transcendental energies into this world.
There are many variations of shamanism throughout the world, but several common beliefs are shared by all forms of shamanism. Common beliefs identified by Eliade (1972) are the following:
Spirits exist and they play important roles both in individual lives and in human society.
The shaman can communicate with the spirit world.
Spirits can be benevolent or malevolent.
The shaman can treat sickness caused by malevolent spirits.
The shaman can employ trance inducing techniques to incite visionary ecstasy and go on vision quests.
The shaman's spirit can leave the body to enter the supernatural world to search for answers.
The shaman evokes animal images as spirit guides, omens, and message-bearers.
The shaman can perform other varied forms of divination, scry, throw bones/runes, and sometimes foretell of future events. Wikipedia.

Japanese Noh plays, based on ancient mythologies and performed since the fourteenth century, are short, highly stylized performances depicting the interactions of mortals and spirits. The plays are presented in a minimalist setting, sometimes having only a painted screen as backdrop - the painting often depicting an ancient ‘spirit tree’ (Kodama) reminiscent of a bristlecone (world’s oldest play thus meets world’s oldest tree).
Music, dance, and song (or chant) are incorporated in Noh - all speaking and singing parts in the five-seven style of most Japanese poetry. In this sense, Noh presents to the audience an experience of dance, poetry and music as interchangeable (and convergent) points on a continuum of art and perception. Among the qualities necessary to fully understand Noh is ‘Yugen’, which refers to a felt, but undefined, beauty - specifically, a subconscious immersion in the profoundly sublime beauty of the transcendental.
Many Western writers, playwrights and poets have been influenced and fascinated by Noh, including the English poet W.B. Yeats who, in 1916, wrote a one-act play (‘At the Hawk’s Well’) based on the Noh play ‘Hagoromo’ (The Feather Mantle). Of the five types of Noh, ‘Hagoromo’ is a ‘woman play’ - a play in which the primary character (shite), whether spirit or mortal, is female. Such plays are characterized by refined song and dance - the dance languid and dreamlike.
In ‘Hagoromo’ a fisherman discovers a moon spirit’s feather veil hanging from a branch and takes it for himself. The spirit, discovering this and unable to return to the spirit world without it, asks the fisherman for its return. The fisherman agrees, but only if the spirit will show him her dance which depicts the changing phases of the moon. After showing her dance and receiving her veil, the spirit fades from sight as though a mountain into a mist.
More recently in New York (2017), an Ezra Pound translation of ‘Hagoromo’ and another Noh play were incorporated into the opera/dance ‘Only the Sound Remains’. In a review of this work, the New York Times wrote that, “...the plays explore spirituality as a kind of longing, almost a love affair, between mortal and spirit beings.”
Such is ‘Yugen’. Inger Christensen once put it this way, “...beneath what is changing and inexpressible, there is an order and a beauty that can burst forth at any time.” Really now, who has never been touched by a subtle longing for the transcendental grace of the ballerina...or the ancient alchemy of the moon?

Winds take me with you
to the heights of heavenly ether
Therein I taste drops
a primordial ground

Transcendental love for

On paths that flow through
worlds
Twinkle little wings,
to unlock the brazen locks
Earth take me in
Culture begins with you
In the deep root kingdom
the earth mother whispers:
"To find is to lose."
Fire burn me
a little fist of earth
still so wet
Glowing in the magma core
and again to ether

When I was in junior high, I babysat a couple of kids whose parents had come of age in the 60s. I was kind of astounded... and a little bit depressed... to discover that their musical tastes had apparently stopped developing somewhere in their teens.
There they were, full-on adults... with kids and a mortgage and all that business... and the world was exploding with great new music... and they were still listening to Sugar Shack. No, not the record label. The original song, by Jimmy someone... which was possibly the suckiest piece of "music" I had ever heard. I vowed to myself that I would never do that... never lose touch with music's evolution... (at least the music I liked)... no matter how old I got.
So... yeah. I was kinda stunned and more than a little sad to realize... over the weekend, for various reasons... that I haven't heard anything as good as, or better than, Pavement. If you don't know the band, well... you're missing out. They disbanded quite a few years ago, but... just as we Flickrites recycle old photos... they're still recycling old recordings. And... in advance of the upcoming Wowie Zowie reissue... they've given us aging fans an amazing, amazing piece of performance... a live show recorded in L.A. in 1994... when the band was at its peak.
I listened to that all weekend. Again and again. And relived the many many transcendental moments I've had with Pavement... live and recorded.
And now... I'm not gonna fight it.... this apparent atrophying of my musical tastes and preferences. No, I'm gonna go with it. And this is the first in a series of pictorial tributes to Pavement.
Now if I can just find a levee, I'll be laughing.

Netherlands, Gelderland, Arnhem, Park Sonsbeek, Cascade (slightly cut from all sides)
In the closing years of the previous century the market was bombarded with management and ‘self help’ books. Probably a case of 'Fin de siècle' 2.0. Two notable ones were about the concept of 'flow'. They were written by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi of the university of Chicago. As a clever marketing ploy the publisher mentioned on the cover of the book that his name should be pronounced as: Chick-sent-me-high-ee.
In ‘Flow’ and ‘Finding Flow’ Csikszentmihaly wrote about the joy of total engagement - performing tasks which ask a good amount of skill and creativity (but not so much that we have to overreach ourselves) - and feeling good about doing that in a somehow transcendental way . Like trying to capture the smooth flow effect of a little cascade without using a tri-pod and a ND filter ;-)
Captured in the wonderful Sonsbeek park in Arnhem. The cascading Sonsbeek (the former St Jans beek) economically was to medieval Arnhem what the river Rhine now is to contemporary Arnhem. The brook provided water and powered a number of grain and oil mills. One of them was at this spot - it was called the 'Gelderse molen' - it was realiized in 1228 and named after one of its propreiators duke Karel van Gelre, a feudal lord. The mill was demolished and the cascade was realized in 1823 - at the time the area was transformed to an English style landscape park by the barons van Heekeren and de Smeth. It was acquired by the municipality of Arnhem in 1899.

The Monk Praying In The Bamboo Lake - Bamboo Mystic Symbolism by Daniel Arrhakis (2024)
With the Mantra / Music : Tadyatha Om Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Bodhi Svaha
Bamboo Mystic Symbolism
Bamboo has long been a source of inspiration, especially the ability to be incredibly strong while still allowing for flexibility. The Major characteristics of the Bamboo are : Strength, Flexibility, Strong roots, Continuous growth, Durability.
Symbol of Strength
Looking at bamboo's characteristics, Bamboo is incredibly strong, it actually has an incredible tensile strength, stronger than steel, and has been used in construction as an alternative material.
Additionally, bamboo is a grass so its root system grows and spread out and down, bamboo holds the soil together, making it highly effective in preventing soil erosion and improving soil quality.
- "Be Like a Bamboo Tree" : The meaning behind the saying:
For example, if we stand firm and defend our principles, our inner strength will become stronger and stronger with each passing day.
Por outro lado, if our roots are interconnected, we can count on the strength of good friends and family to help us face any trial in life.
Our strength can even strengthen the world around us, helping our communities stand the test of time.
Symbol of Flexibility
However, strength alone is not enough, you also need to be flexible to adapt to the world around you as it changes. The dense fibers in bamboo cane give the plant extreme flexibility to allow it to bend without breaking.
Bamboo is able to weather significant storms and high winds. It’s strong enough to remain grounded while flexible enough not to break from the pressure.
In this sense, the symbolism is very clear, it is necessary that we adapt to the world we live in but also be flexible and not intransigent towards others and even towards ourselves. Knowing how to recognize that we have made a mistake or that we know nothing about something is in itself a virtue and not a weakness.
Symbol of Simplicity & Continuous Growth
Since bamboo trees are the fastest-growing plants in the world, they’re often associated with continuous growth, and the commitment to learning and developing. Bamboo is also hollow on the inside, and it grows quite simply.
This reminds us that we should never be too full of ourselves and to make sure we keep an open mind and stay open to possibilities of exploration and growth.
Symbol of Enlightenment
In Buddhist culture, bamboo is considered to be a symbol of enlightenment. This may be a nod towards the hollow stems of the plants' makeup and how when we embrace a version of emptiness, we can become a vessel for the energy of the universe to flow.
Symbol of Longevity
Bamboo is a symbol of longevity because of its durability, strength, flexibility, and resilience. It survives in the harshest conditions, still standing tall and staying green year-round.
The tall plant is seen as an indicator of growth and people are often advised to grow it at home. In fact, as a constant companion of Lord Krishna, the plant symbolises long companionship and friendship.
"The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom" (Heart Sūtra) is condensed into the mantra with which the sutra concludes: "Gate Gate Pāragate Pārasamgate Bodhi Svāhā" (literally "Gone gone, gone beyond, gone utterly beyond, reach complete Enlightenment !").

O Simbolismo Místico do Bambu
