John F. Kennedy Park - This promenade on the water’s edge is a favourite place for locals and visitors to relax. The bandstand is located near the spot where Queen Victoria stepped ashore in Ireland for the first time in August 1849. During the summer months regular band and music recitals take place there. The 2 cannons in the promenade were returned from the Boer and Crimean Wars in 1899 and 1854 respectively.

Location: High Bridge, High Street, Lincoln, England.

The High Bridge in Lincoln is the oldest bridge in the United Kingdom which still has buildings on it. Bridges similar to this were common in Britain during the Middle Ages, the best known being London Bridge, but most have long since been demolished because of their obstruction to the river flow and to shipping.

The bridge, a fine ribbed Norman Arch of 22-foot span was built circa 1160 AD to span the River Witham, it replaced an earlier wooden bridge. A chapel built on the bridge in 1235, and dedicated to Thomas à Becket, was demolished in 1762. The current, half timbered, Tudor building dates from 1550, with the present owners, since 1937, being Stokes High Bridge Café, a family run business in Lincoln since 1902, when Robert William Stokes opened his first grocery shop.

The English Market comprises Princes Street Market and Grand Parade Market, and is a municipal food market in the centre of Cork, Ireland. The market is administered by Cork City Council. The market is well supported locally and has become a tourist attraction - drawing visitors from throughout the world, including a visit by Queen Elizabeth II during her 2011 state visit. The term English Market was coined in the 19th Century to distinguish the market from the nearby St. Peter's Market (now the site of the Bodega on Cornmarket Street), which was known as the Irish Market.

There has been a market on the present site since 1788 but the present group of buildings was constructed in the mid-19th century with the ornamental entrance at Princes Street being constructed in 1862 by Sir John Benson. The market changed little over the next century or so until it was seriously damaged by fire on 19 June 1980 and had to be extensively refurbished by Cork City Council. The refurbishment work was done in sympathy with the original Victorian building's design and won a Gold Medal from the Europa Nostra heritage foundation for conservation shortly after its completion. The refurbished market suffered a second fire in 1986 but the fire was less damaging than the first.

Since its refurbishment the market has become more multicultural, and a variety of fresh produce from around the world can be bought there. The market is still best known however for its fresh fish and butchers, and it serves many of the city's top restaurants. It is a source of local specialities such as drisheen, spiced beef, and buttered eggs.

The Feathers Hotel was originally a 16th Century coaching inn, built in two phases. The first phase (nearest) was built c1565, with the gabled attic rooms almost certainly a later addition, and the second phase was added in the early 17th Century. As it was on the main London - Cheltenham - Aberystwyth post route it would have always seen brisk trade.

The Clock Tower houses the town's library and is dedicated to poet Elizabeth Barrett-Browning, who lived and wrote in the town.

The "Blue Eye" (Albanian: Syri i Kaltër) is a water spring and natural phenomenon occurring near the village of Muzinë in Finiq municipality, southern Albania.[3] A popular tourist attraction, the clear blue water of the river can be seen from a depth of more than fifty metres. Divers have descended to fifty metres, but it is still unclear what the actual depth of the karst hole is.[4]

This phenomenon is also known as 'springs of Bistricë' as it is the initial water source of Bistricë river, 25 km long, which ends in the Ionian Sea south of Sarandë.[5] The source stands at an altitude of 152 m and has a discharge rate of 18400 l/s.[6]

The immediate area 1.8 km2 (0.69 sq mi) is a Nature Monument and is characterized by oak and sycamore trees.[7] In summer 2004, the source was temporarily dried up.

The cemetery also offers a view of the changing style of death monuments in Ireland over the last 200 years: from the austere, simple, high stone erections of the period up until the 1860s, to the elaborate Celtic crosses of the nationalistic revival from the 1860s to the 1960s, to the plain Italian marble of the late 20th century.

The high wall with watch-towers surrounding the main part of the cemetery was built to deter bodysnatchers, who were active in Dublin in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The watchmen also had a pack of blood-hounds who roamed the cemetery at night.

In 2009, Glasnevin Trust in co-operation with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) began identifying the graves of Irish service personnel who died while serving in the Commonwealth forces during the two world wars. These names are inscribed on two memorials, rededicated and relocated in 2011 to near the main entrance. A Cross of Sacrifice was erected in the cemetery, in a joint Irish-British commemoration ceremony, to mark the First World War centenary. As of March 2017, there are 214 service personnel of the Commonwealth of both wars identified as buried here.

Albarracín is a Spanish town, in the province of Teruel, part of the autonomous community of Aragon.

It is deemed to be the most beautiful village in Spain. My verdict, great to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. Mainly because of the terrain. Great if you are a sprightly young thing but after a couple of days in those hills and my legs were worn out.

It is also fairly isolated and the town itself is not exactly brimming with action. But, as I said, a super place to visit and well worth the detour.

Thank you.

Piazzale Michelangelo (Michelangelo Square) was built in 1869 and designed by architect Giuseppe Poggi on a hill just south of the historic center, during the redevelopment of the left bank of the Arno (the South side of the river). At that time, Florence was the capital of Italy and the whole city was involved in an urban renewal, the so-called "Risanamento" or the "Rebirth" of the city's middle class. Lungarni (riverside walkways; "lungarno", singular) were built on the riversides. On the right bank, the fourteenth-century walls were removed and turned into the Viali di Circonvallazione referencing the French "boulevard" design, six lanes wide and lined with trees. On the left bank winding up the hill of San Miniato the Viale dei Colli was built, a tree-lined street over 8 kilometers long ending at the Piazzale Michelangelo which was built as a terrace with a panoramic view of the city. The news of the rapid construction of this undertaking has been described in detail by the Italian journalist Peter Ferrigno (known under the name of Yorick).

The cathedral, built as the abbey church between 1089 and 1499, consists of a Norman nucleus, with additions in every style of Gothic architecture.

In 1540 it was dissolved in the Dissolution of the Monasteries but refounded as a Protestant Cathedral by King Henry VIII in 1541.
