This beautiful rod iron heart is part of the design on my Mom's railing! I thought it would be a unique heart shape to use for Valentine's Day that's coming up! Hope you all like it =)

In Africa, the Cheetahs population is struggling and listed as vulnerable by the IUCN. Human encroachment continues to shrink and fragment their native habitat. During my time in Ndutu I was encouraged that we found several thriving families. These sleek and beautiful cats stole my heart and quickly became favorites. We found this young cub just before sunset one evening. In the first year of life, cheetah mortality is high and this tough guy was the sole survivor from what was likely a litter of three or four. Due to this little one's cautious nature, I have am hopeful that he survived.

Poor Drusilla is having a tough Thanksgiving morning! She is up before dawn trying to get her turkey started and meal prep going. Luckily, she stays calm in emergencies.

Hope your holiday preparation is going better than hers! Happy Thanksgiving!

This cowboy was in a tough situation almost immediately after coming out of the chute, he walked away but put on a pretty good show for a few seconds.

Not easy being a seal I have decided. Always too much to be getting on with...

Busker on the street. Singing and playing guitar. He had an amazing voice. I must have watched him play for a good 20 minutes. He collected a lot of money! And really didn't mind me taking pics either, which is always a bonus!

Seen in the backyard at the fishing house at Cotter, Arkansas. This male stayed busy chasing away other hummers from the feeders.

I turned 18 recently.

You may recall that I featured a group of Monarch butterflies that were wintering over in a big ol' Redwood tree in the local church grounds... (Wintering over butterflies are known to be in diapause).

Well... Yesterday, I checked on the butterflies because for several days, the Hutt Valley has been blasted by low temperatures, strong winds, and heavy rain (which included severe Thunder storms) - and I must admit: I really didn't expect to find anything...

So upon arriving at the site, I wasn't surprised to find the tree was empty of butterflies, but just as I was about to walk away, I spotted six of the little creatures clinging quietly to some Redwood branches (above).

And the more I looked, the more butterflies I found; there must have been at least 30 of them...! They look delicate, but for these little creatures to survive the recent storms proves that they really are quite tough little creatures...!

A very BIG "Thank You" for all your prayers and kind messages; they are very gratefully appreciated thanks...!

And thank you also for your equally kind and encouraging comments beneath my photos...! Without your encouragement, I'd have probably given up on photography years ago...!

An other experiment and this time in softness my friends. I liked the "tough look" but with the softness I like it more and wonder what you think?

Thank you beforehand for the so valuable comments, invites, faves, critics that I love so much and are making my day :) (((HUGS))) and enjoy your day!

Finally (I hope!) reaching the end of the COVID19 pandemic, and still returning to this location for the optimum reflection of the NY TOUGH lighting of the Empire State Plaza Tower Building. I expect this will go away soon.

this is TOUGH to do. i am a big fan of KiwiGals work and i love her dandelion shots. this one is out of focus and definitely looks better small but it is the ONLY one i got! not my last, i must master this!

The Erie Lackawanna was tough. It was really cool to see and hear some of their trains hit the Griffith diamonds at nearly 50mph. It always seemed like they went faster at night? Anyway, here's a eastbound with double-headed SD-45's looking good.

In the background you can spot another foamer. One of a group from New York I met this particular week. Some of the most interesting ever...and I met a lot of fellow foamers here. I think this was shot on Kodak Verichrome Pan? I can't be sure by looking at the negative, however it seems to have a smoother look than Tri-X.

What do you get when you are beaten down, stomped, weathered?

A tough exterior with lines of experience running across!!
