The USAF Lockheed Martin F22A Raptor is quite simply fantastic to watch perform with breath-taking manoeuvres which leave you wondering how can something perform like this and with what seems such little effort. I looked forward to seeing this display after watching last years display at RIAT and it just gets better and better.

The Grumman C-2 Greyhound is a twin-engine, high-wing cargo aircraft designed to carry supplies, mail, and passengers to and from aircraft carriers of the United States Navy. Its primary mission is carrier onboard delivery (COD). The aircraft provides critical logistics support to carrier strike groups.

It never disappoints to see this large transport Airbus A400M Atlas at RIAT as it performs display manoeuvres that you feel really shouldn't be possible for this size of aircraft. Despite early set backs this aircraft will have a major role for the future of the RAF transport fleet and will also have the capability for medivac and re-fuelling roles also.

Coming in for a short fuel stop at RAF Lossiemouth is this British Army Britten-Norman Defender.

The Britten-Norman Defender is a multi-role utility transport aircraft, manufactured by Britten-Norman of the United Kingdom. It is the military version of the Britten-Norman Islander, developed for roles such as utility transport, casualty evacuation, counter-insurgency and light attack, forward air control, patrol and reconnaissance.

The term 'Britten-Norman Defender' relates to all militarised variants of the BN-2 .

Making its debut at RIAT in the 2022 show is this wonderful Canadair CL-13 Mk.6 Sabre.

The North American F-86 Sabre was the first swept-wing jet fighter operated by the USAF and became legendary for its pilots exploits during the Korean war achieving a kill ratio against the Soviet MiG-15 of 10 to 1. Whilst there are no longer any airworthy genuine F-86 Sabres left in Europe, France based Mistral Warbirds operate this Canadair CL-13 Mk.6, the very last licence-built by the Canadians in a catching USAF camouflage scheme.
