Throwing Some Shapes
A group of my trees that have I become so fond of photographing, everything about them appeals to my eye, and of course seeing them in snow works so well.

Another from our first stop at Oakwood beside the A96 near Elgin, this time a pair of dancing Oak trees with a colourful backdrop.
Since some of the 26's are receiving brand new designs for some of the animals on display at Edinburgh Zoo, I thought I would bring this back up.
Going back to the 22nd July 2011 and a little throwback to Connect 26 319 at Omni Centre carrying its penguin livery for Edinburgh Zoo.

Thank you for clicking on my picture. Every thought (faves, comments) appreciated!
Good lights to all of you, fellows.
A throwback Thursday? Hardly. What could be the most killer lash up I've ever shot rolled through Pennsylvania yesterday in the form of 4 spartan cab EMD Special Duty locomotives.
After waiting at CP CANNON for traffic to clear, a three pack of big daddy SD70s and a lone SD60 get underway as they pull loaded grain train 50K across the stone arch bridge at Shermans Creek in Duncannon, PA.
As the fishermen throw away the ice from the boat into the muddy area, some small children look through the stack of ice to see if they get lucky with some small fishes. These might probably be their only chance of eating some fish.

Thank you HHH for throwing the "Dinkie Party" it was so much fun! We also want to thank Teresa for being a fabulous host and all of the fantastic performers, Corwyn Allen, Lluis Indigo, Talon Hawks and Stelli.
Recently I have taken a different direction in my photography. Instead of simply wandering around seeing what I can find, I have chosen to go to a variety of events to take photos. I thought I would try a little Sports photography at this Masters' Track and Field event. I was met with all sorts of challenges. In the hammer throw (pictured) the net is obviously in the way, both in terms of cluttering up the picture, but also in terms of confusing my camera when it is trying to focus. Likewise, this is in the morning, in a clearing in the woods, and the light is low. (Lightened in the photo). Add to that the speed of the metal ball on a wire that is spinning around as the athlete prepares to let go, and you can see an additional challenge, difficulty in catching the motion without a blur. I will keep trying.
