About 100 yards/meters from where I photographed the Whooping Crane posted yesterday is a pond where this American Alligator resides.
The winter home for Whooping Cranes in south Texas has a healthy population of gators, but they don't typically prey on the cranes.
Next in my year in review series will be from the same trip, but a little further south in Texas.
Laying in the grass and taking it all in. If you haven't been to Texas in the spring, you are really missing something special.

This mural was found in the second level of the Whataburger by the bay and 'depicts the history of flags that have flown over Texas'. I do believe my favorite is the Whataburger flag.

I got -very- dense negatives with Rodinal 1:25 at 7 minutes- the negatives are all scannable/printable, but wow... They all look overexposed by a couple of stops.

Silverton, Texas
A severe warned supercell moving towards the small town of Silverton in the Texas Panhandle. This storm was responsible for a brief tornado earlier in the afternoon.
I took this picture just south of Dallas one night when a lightning storm came through.
