so, i was tagged a few times again...
one. i rarely go to be before midnight...i come alive at night, and then i spend the majority of the day feeling tired and wishing i'd gone to bed earlier. silly, i know.
two. i collect songs. only amazing ones though. i adore music.
three. i've been to america, new zealand, fiji and japan twice, but there are so many other places i want to travel to...
four. i'm a total sweet-tooth. i used to prefer savoury, but i converted recently. i love lollies. and chocolate. and pretty much all things sweet.
five. i love floral patterns. i have so many floral tops it's actually ridiculous.
six. i love to write. i do alot of it. but i wish i had time for more.
seven. i love lists. i have lists for everything. i like them becuase once they're on paper, they're not buzzing around in my head.
eight. i wear earrings and rings every day. i feel incomplete without them. and yet, the first thing i do when i get home is take them all off!
nine. i adore the ocean.
ten. if i could, i would go barefoot everywhere.

A family of Wrens started nesting in my fish house roof as it was being replaced. Work has now stopped until the young birds have fledged. The parents are very good & feed the young birds every ten minutes.
For my son on his 10th Birthday... I want you to know its ok if you don't want to cut your hair and that I am sorry I couldn't get you the trampoline you asked for, you sure did deserve it. Sometimes I feel like I don't know how to parent you, you are so smart and with your intelligence has come a type of personality that I am still trying to learn. You know exactly what you want and there is no talking you out of it. There is no distracting you or convincing you of something different and with that comes your disappointment when what you want to happen doesn't happen. I love how you are always the first one to notice when I am upset "are you ok mama?" you ask me and I know I have to be honest with you because you see right through all my "it's ok" responses. You are brilliant, try not to be so disappointed in the small things that go wrong in life because there are so many wonderful things this life has to offer... and one day you will get that trampoline:)

The multiple facets of Second Life have always fascinated and passionated me and I’m still amazed by the will for diversity and creativity in the pixels incarnation.
The idea that each avatar is the projection of a real person somewhere on this planet is dizzying… That these avatars can communicate in real time using their own appearance, directly from their imagination, culture, personality, desires is fantastically rich.
It is true that we encounter here Narcissus syndrome, but still something else that ego is at work here, I think.
Are we not just looking for our secret self, this being hidden in each of us and who accompanies us all along our lives, do not we give to him through our avatar the opportunity to express its relevance or his impertinence?
I would like to show the meeting with this entity humano / Virtual ... find the spark of life, the detail, the feature that brings life to the inert, and witness this phenomenon by deploying a series of portraits ..
If anyone recognizes his avatar and doesn’t want to appear in this serie, I will remove the photo, if someone wants to add his name I will add it :)
Les multiples facettes de Second life m'ont toujours fascinée et passionnée et je reste émerveillée par cette volonté de diversité et de créativité dans l'incarnation des pixels.
L'idée que chaque avatar est la projection d'un individu bien réel quelque part sur cette planète est vertigineuse. Que ces avatars puissent communiquer en temps réel utilisant cette apparence qui leur est propre, directement issue de leur imagination, culture, personnalité, désirs est fantastiquement riche.
Il est vrai qu'ici nous rencontrons le syndrome de Narcisse, mais tout de même quelque chose d'autre que l'ego est à l'oeuvre ici, il me semble.
N'est-on pas tout simplement à la recherche de notre moi secret, cet être caché en chacun de nous et qui nous accompagne tout au long de notre vie, ne lui donnons nous pas à travers notre avatar la possibilité d'exprimer sa pertinence ou son impertinence?
J’ai voulu montrer la rencontre avec cette entité humano/virtuelle… trouver l'étincelle de vie, le détail, la particularité qui apporte la vie à l'inerte, et témoigner de ce phénomène en déployant une suite de portraits..
Si quelqu’un se reconnait et ne veut pas apparaitre dans cette série, je retirerai la photo, si au contraire quelqu’un veut ajouter son nom je l’ajouterai :)

After I finished cooking at bottling some spiced syrup I made today, I had arranged the bottles like this to grab a quick shot for Instagram, but decided right away I wanted to play with some lighting. Set up both of my SB-700s behind them, with the built-in diffusers deployed, at 1/2 power, and shot with the light coming through the syrups with my wide-angle.
Nikon D7000 w/Tokina 11-16mm @ 16mm, 1/250s @ ƒ/16, ISO100. Color finishing in Aperture and Nik Viveza.
I was challenged to do 10 days with 10 photos of my daily life, in black and white, without explanation, without anyone in the photo.

Today is Day Ten.
I don't really care if this isn't "good" etc. For a long time, one of my goals has been to get a picture of lightning, and I finally did it. The heat lightning is insane around here.
His mom was encouraging him to jump, he was crouching on the rock, a little hesitant. So he starts counting and she joins in,
boy and mom: "one.. two.. three..."
mom: "..jump!"
boy: "Wait! Wait! I'm gonna count to ten! ..four.. five.. six.. seven.. eight.. niiiiine.... TEN!..."
mom: "Okay jump!"

Well I didn`t count them all, but there were certainly a lot .....a huge lot !!! This is part of the Buddhist temple called Kek Lok Si (Temple of the Ten Thousand Buddhas) in Penang....the largest Chinese Buddhist temple in Malaysia ( probably in all Southeast Asia ). The beautiful seven storey Pagoda is unique ,as it incorporates three architectural styles ......the octagonal base is Chinese , with the mid section Thai & the top, a Burmese crown, symbolising unity.
Alas there is some scaffolding ,spoiling the image ..... along with cranes, the bane of my photo-life.
