If you don't know the guy on the other side of the world, love him anyway because he's just like you. He has the same dreams, the same hopes and fears. It's one world, pal. We're all neighbors.

Don't you worry there, my honey
We might not have any money
But we've got our love to pay the bills
Maybe I think you're cute and funny
Maybe I wanna do what bunnies do with you, if you know what I mean
Oh, let's get rich and buy our parents homes in the south of France
Let's get rich and give everybody nice sweaters and teach them how to dance
Let's get rich and build a house on a mountain making everybody look like ants
From way up there, you and I, you and I
Well, you might be a bit confused
And you might be a little bit bruised
But baby how we spoon like no one else
So I will help you read those books
If you will soothe my worried looks
And we will put the lonesome on the shelf
Oh, let's get rich and buy our parents homes in the south of France
Let's get rich and give everybody nice sweaters and teach them how to dance
Let's get rich and build a house on a mountain making everybody look like ants
From way up there, you and I, you and I
Oh let's get rich and buy our parents homes in the south of France

Teach Your Children
You, who are on the road
Must have a code that you can live by
And so become yourself
Because the past is just a goodbye
Teach your children well
Their father's hell did slowly go by
And feed them on your dreams
The one they pick's the one you'll know by
Don't you ever ask them why
If they told you, you would cry
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you
And you, of tender years
You can't know the fears that your elders grew by
And so, please, help them with your youth
'Cause they seek the truth before they can die
Teach your children well
Their father's hell will slowly go by
And feed them on your dreams
The one they pick's the one you'll know by
Don't you ever ask them why
If they told you, you would cry
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you

Mothers teach us a lot, don't they? They teach us tolerance, they teach us patience along with acceptance (at least hopefully most do), they guide us through difficult times and teach us coping skills, how to become independent with the tools we need in order to live on our own.
They teach us compassion for others and how to show kindness to all living beings whether feathered, 4 legged and furry or the 2 legged kind that can sometimes be difficult.
I could go on and on with this list but it would take too long. This is a tribute to my mother who passed away on this day in 1994. She was way too young and I really would love it if she was here still today. But we will meet again someday and it will be a wonderful reunion that I have faith will happen.
Love you mom.
In this photo, mom is in the middle and her two cubs were doing their best to engage her in some rough and tumble play in the middle of the river. She was engaging them a bit but I loved this photo, even though her back is to the camera because you can see how each cub has a paw on mom's back. They really wanted her to play
Cherish your mom if you still have her.

A letter arrived to Everett. It read, "We need to talk..." Little did the two of them know this talk would go so well, in fact it ended with a lesson in feeding the squid. What could be more romantic than feeding a giant squid some buttered toast?

Mothers teach us about beauty. When we are small children they are the most beautiful woman in the world. We discover the world through what they show us and learn about beauty through their eyes. Through our mother's belief in us we learn to find beauty in ourselves and others. Then the cycle completes as we become mothers and see the beauty in our own children and strive to show them what is beautiful in the world.

One thing isn't very clear, my love
Should the teacher stand so near, my love?
Graduation's almost here, my love
Teach me, please, teach me tonight
I'm a train wreck in the morning
I'm a bitch in the afternoon
Every now and then without warning
I can be really mean towards you
I'm a puzzle yes in deed
Ever complex in every way
And all the pieces aren't even in the box
And yet, you see the picture clear as day.
I don't know why you love me
And that's why I love you
You catch me when I fall
Accept me flaws and all
And that's why I love you
I neglect you when I'm working
When I need attention I tend to nag
I'm a host of imperfection
And you see past all that
I'm a peasant by some standards
But in your eyes I'm a queen
You see potential in all my flaws
and that's exactly what I need.
I don't know why you love me
And that's why I love you
You catch me when I fall
Accept me flaws and all
and that's why I love you

When yealrings are around, sometimes they run around playing with other yearling cubs and sometimes they stick close to their moms ... for protection and food ... and for teachable moments. Here the sow finds a salmon to eat and begins to share it with her cub. She pats it on the head in some sort of gesture. What do you think is the meaning of this?

"Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom."
These are the words from Wreaths Across America's (WAA) website noted as "Our Mission". And, it is clearly observed in their commitment to the soldiers buried across the country in the many "national cemetery's" with the wreaths placed against the headstones. However, this is just one of the many ways that WAA remembers, honors, and teaches the next generation about our fallen. Please check out their website for more information about the many ways they accomplish this goal...
Additionally, the location of the photograph above is the Nashville National Cemetery in Madison, Tennessee (just north of Downtown Nashville) which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). More information about this "national cemetery" can be found here:

Rally in Paris after the murder of a teacher (Samuel Paty, beheaded ) by a Muslim fanatic, after the teacher showed caricatures of Muhammad to make them understand aspects of French secularism.

Rennee (skagitrenee) came up with a Valentine's competition representing love. I liked the idea so much that I contributed five works to the contest and decided to try and upload a work a day about love for Valentine's month of February, and this is my 6th February 2025 addition.
You must first teach a child he is loved. Only then is he ready to learn everything else.

Children do not need us to shape them; they need us to respond to who they are.
Naomi Aldort
It’s time we stop buying the lie that we need to be hard on kids because ‘the world is hard.” Love them as hard as you can. That’s what they need.
Tara Vogler
Make the most of today because it is right here. Play that game, sing that song, read one more book, and enjoy those cuddles. Treasure all those precious little moments. Because at the end of your life, you’ll never look back and think, ‘I spent too much time with my kids.
Anon
Raising children who are hopeful and who have the courage to be vulnerable means stepping back and letting them experience disappointment, deal with conflict, learn how to assert themselves, and have the opportunity to fail. If we’re always following our children into the arena, hushing the critics, and assuring their victory, they’ll never learn that they have the ability to dare greatly on their own.
Brene Brown
To love someone is to strive to accept that person exactly the way he or she is.
Fred Rogers
Too much love never spoils our children. Children become spoiled when we substitute presents for presence.

Behind every young child who believes in himself is a parent who believed first.

Feeling heard and understood allows children to release the feelings, let go, and move on
