I was out having a practice shooting session last week, when this unusual aircraft came in to land.
The catchily named 'TBM 960' is like a Biz-Jet, but it uses its jet engine to turn a propeller - a so-called Turboprop. The jet's air intake can be seen below the prop spinner, and the jet-pipes either side will also provide some thrust.
French built, US registered and landing in the UK.
According to the manufacturer's web page, the engine is fully digitally controlled. I imagine the pilot says 'Hey Siri - fly me to Paris' and it fully automatically flies to somewhere else that it thought he said.
The TBM 960 has six seats, cruises at 330mph, and prices start at a cool $4.8 million - don't all rush.
