Wir befinden uns im Zentrum der hektischsten Bautätigkeit von Baku. Hinter mir stehen gleich drei halb fertiggestellte hochmoderne Gebäude, die ganz sicher im Juni mit allen Argumenten einladen, die auf die Gäste der Auto-Renn-Welt wirken können.
Möglicherweise verblasst dahinter tatsächlich die Strahlkraft des "Hilton" - momentan das erste Haus am Platz.
Wie ein Sultanspalast wirkt Hökümət Evi, rechts im Bild. Es beherbergt staatliche Einrichtungen, ist aber der Öffentlichkeit nicht zugänglich.

Motorbike taxis are very common in Thailand and represent a very cheap way of getting around, especially from public transport hubs. On Koh Kret they are the only means of getting around if you don't want to walk or have two wheels of your own...

Dating from 1933 this Austin Taxi Cab is still in its original condition, Recently acquired by its new owner after spending 45 years in Sweden,Seen at a event in Driffield,
Taxi! is the title of J. Seward Johnson Jr's unusual bronze statue, which freeze-frames a city worker, presumably homeward bound after a day at the office. Except, of course he's going nowhere fast.
This statue on John Carpenter Street near Blackfriars station has been trying to hail a cab since 2014. And so far, he's had no luck.

The road along the Yamanote Line was surprisingly empty. It seems to be a resting place for taxis and motorbikes. Then I found this taxi. The strong pink color is impressive, perhaps with foreigners in mind.
I'm sure they weren't but the driver of the far vehicle was moving quicker than the nearby Buick, hence being a little blurred.
This is another very early morning shot.
Plenty of them to be found near W. Cordova at Seymour, not far from Vancouver's historic Gastown.
