Full service on the east-west Tramway de Nice T2 light rail route began in December 2019, covering 11.3km from Nice Airport to Port Lympia. In the centre of Nice, the line runs underground for 3.2km, serving four deep-level stations. A westbound Alstom Citadis unit is captured here entering the station at Alsace-Lorraine.

Did a little comet hunting last night. This chap is currently magnitude 14, so a tricky target. It's approximately 211,500kms away from Earth.

8th magnitude comet in Camelopardalis. I took 20 exposures of 2 minutes at ISO 1600 with a 480/80mm f/6 scope.

Comets move reasonably quickly against the stellar background so I had to use short exposures but the downside is that ISO (and noise) has to go up.

I used alternate subs to do the various subtraction routines to isolate the comet and the stars then recombine them.

Probably as small and dim as I can catch with my current setup - maybe one for a RASA scope with fast optics and a cooled CMOS camera.

Equipment-

480/80mm f/6 Altair Starwave triplet refractor.

Altair Planostar 1.0 x FF with 2 inch IDAS LPS D1 filter

Astro-modified Canon 80D at ISO1600; 20 x 2 minute subs

NEQ6 Pro Mount with Rowan modified belt drives. 2-star align.

Laptop with BackyardEOS for focusing and acquisition.
