"T2" is dead. The tiercel who made red-tailed hawk history when he turned up to help "Mom" raise three newly hatched chicks soon after her mate was killed in 2012 was himself found dead along the 30th Street Station train tracks last week. The pair raised three chicks in 2013, only one of whom survived the summer. "Mom" is presently interviewing prospective mates. It's unclear whether there will be hawks nesting at the Franklin Institute this year. Update: "Mom" observed mating with a new male on April 1.

When I was a child, I spent many days building with LEGO together with Antoin, a good friend of mine. We're still good friends and I was best man for his wedding in the Summer of 2011. The vehicle used for the wedding was a slightly customised VW Transporter T2.
His wife recently gave him the VW camper van, set 10220, with the idea that it could be easily turned into a model of the van used for the wedding. Both of them visited my place this weekend and together we did the transformation. This shot shows the result, together with my own example of set 10220.
Building together again, after many years, was like reliving part of my childhood.
