Black Swan taken at Southbank, Yarra River, Melbourne.

The black swan is a large waterbird, a species of swan which breeds mainly in the southeast and southwest regions of Australia.

Within Australia, the black swan is nomadic, with erratic migration patterns dependent upon climatic conditions. It is a large bird with mostly black plumage and a red bill.

What is the symbolism of black Swan ?

The black swan is also highly symbolic of a high level of personal power.

When things get tough, the black swan is more likely to persist than the white swan, which is why it's become the symbol of personal power.

In this case, personal power means our courage and determination to overcome hard times.

Many thanks for your visit, comments, invites and faves...it is always appreciated..

Pink symbolizes youth, good health, and playfulness. It’s the flush of first love and stands for nurturing femininity. It’s used as the symbolic color of the movement to support breast cancer research, and we think of pink as an innocent, cheerful color.

There is a flower that thrives abundantly in the Scottish hills and valleys, as famous as the Thistle (symbolic flower of Scotland), it is the Wild Scottish Heather (Caluna Vulgaris) which literally colors many areas of that landscape, among which goats love to graze.

SYMBOLIC OF THE LILY OF THE VALLEY

This flower symbolizes absolute purity, freshness, sincerity and discretion. But most importantly, she symbolizes happiness. This beautiful meaning immediately makes it very important to give a bunch of lilies of the valley to someone you love on May 1.

Poppies were symbolic of fertility, and were eaten at these feasts to guarantee abundant crops for the following years. Poppy seeds were also thought to protect against evil and were sprinkled around barn doorways and in the corners of houses on Christmas Eve.

A million thanks to all of you for your kind support, you inspire me a lot through your wonderful, brillant, marvelous pictures Wish you all my dear friends a lovely day!

Last year it was still the normal state between performances. Unfortunately, it now has a completely different symbolic power :-(

On October 11, 1987, the first Wisconsin Central freight train to climb Byron Hill out of Shops Yard at North Fond du Lac, approaches the top of the grade at Byron, Wisconsin. Apparently, crews at the locomotive shop in town spent the morning removing Soo Line lettering from the locomotives and applying WC initials to the cabs of these three units to symbolically show the flag of the new railroad as soon as possible.

Symbolically the plant, with its bright colors and its very flowering branches embodies the welcome and the passion. From the esoteric point of view it is associated with the element of air with propitiatory characteristics of protection, fortune and prosperity. It is believed in fact, that by planting the bouganville outside the home It will ward off the negativity and bad luck.

The Sacred Sanctuary contains a small altar and in its rear niche (left to right) are the four statues of Ptah, Amun-Re, the deified Ramesses and Re-Horakhty. While the horizontal rays of the rising sun did illuminate these statues twice each year (and still do through the careful orientation of the relocated temple), the specific dates of these occurrences are not as important as it often thought, as the phenomenon would occur with any south-facing structure of this type at some point or points of the year.

Nevertheless, the occurrence itself was important as it achieved the symbolic fusion of solar and chthonic forces celebrated in this great temple.

Here, on a black wall, are rock cut sculptures of four seated figures:

Ra-Horakhty, the deified king Ramesses, and the gods Amun Ra and Ptah.

Ra-Horakhty, Amun Ra and Ptah were the main divinities in that period and their cult centers were at Heliopolis, Thebes and Memphis respectively.

Currently there are over 160 memorial-boards and 50 hand-carved wooden crosses. Originally all the memorial

, an academic artist, was the author of the idea to found a symbolic cemetery.

In 1936. It was finished in 1940 and open to public with the following motto:

The Russian Chapel on the Vršič Pass is a Russian Orthodox chapel located on the Russian Road on the northern side of the Vršič Pass in northwestern Slovenia. The chapel, dedicated to Saint Vladimir, was built by Russian prisoners of war engaged in forced labor in the area during World War I. It serves as both a war memorial and a symbolic link between Slovenia and Russia.

Wikipedia: A symbolic use of the grasshopper is Sir Thomas Gresham's gilded grasshopper in Lombard Street, London, dating from 1563. The building was for a while the headquarters of the Guardian Royal Exchange, but the company declined to use the symbol for fear of confusion with the locust.

"Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep"

By Mary Elizabeth Frye

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow,

I am the sun on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there; I did not die.

The staircase is a work of art in itself. The covering consists of mosaic stones, which are largely applied by hand. For chief architect Alessandro Mendini, the stairs also had a symbolic function. In traditional museum buildings, visitors usually go up the stairs. The underlying idea is that art is superior to the everyday. Mendini turned this around: you have to go downstairs to view the art.

The first day of Spring is normally a time for celebration. But not this year. This Spring is going to be one we'll all remember and regret. I let the mood of these dark days dictate the taking and the editing of this image. There was no way to tell at the time whether the storm was moving in on us or wending its way out. So it goes with poor Ukraine.

Upper Antelope Canyon - Page, Arizona.....A long time ago, herds of pronghorn antelope roamed freely in Antelope Canyon, which explains the canyon's English name. It is not known exactly when people first discovered Antelope Canyon. According to local Navajos, who have lived here for some time, the canyon and the LeChee area were places where cattle grazed in winter.

To older Navajos, entering a place like Antelope Canyon was like entering a cathedral (our Navajo guide referred to this image as Monument Valley). They would probaby pause before going in, to be in the right frame of mind and to prepare for protection and respect. This would also allow them to leave with an uplifted feeling of what Mother Nature has to offer and to be in harmony with something greater than themselves. It was (and continues to be) a spiritual experience.

The Old Town Bridge Tower is one of the most beautiful Gothic gateways in the world. The tower, along with the Charles Bridge, was built by Emperor Charles IV according to designs by Petr Parléř in the mid-14 th century. The gate to the Old Town was also conceived as a symbolic victory arch through which Czech kings passed on their coronation processions. For an unforgettable view, visitors must climb 138 steps to the viewing gallery.

Mukuge (Hibiscus syriacus) or Rose of Sharon is a deciduous shrub that originates in China. It is a popular flowering plant for gardening in Asia. Flower of Mukuge is symbolic of summer.

Symbolic metal mirror drops were created to be placed in the central square of Kharkov on the day of the city, August 23. But due to the insane shelling of Kharkov, which Russian barbarians continued to carry out, it was impossible to install an art object there. And the authors came up with a proposal to decorate the public space of Kyiv with giant drops.

As conceived by the authors, the drops gravitate both to the ground and to each other, symbolizing the unity of the two cities - the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, and Kharkov, which today courageously resists the Russian aggressor.

The project was implemented by a workshop from Kharkov METALSTYLE, they called it "Unity"

The Meeting statue is a celebration of two people, two faiths and two distinct cultures coming together 400 years ago. In 1615, Chief Aenon of the Huron Wendat presents the Wampum belt, a symbolic gesture of friendship and alliance to welcome Samuel de Champlain and the French people to their land.

Belchite is a municipality in the province of Zaragoza, Spain, located 49 km from the capital. It has a population of 1,636 inhabitants (source: INE (2010)) and 273.58 km². It is the head of the region known as "Tierras de Belchite".

It is known to have been the scene of one of the symbolic battles of the Spanish Civil War, the Battle of Belchite. As a result of the clashes, the town was destroyed. Instead of its reconstruction, Francisco Franco's regime decided to create a new town next door (today known as Belchite new), leaving intact the ruins of the previous one as a reminder of the civil war and what were considered excesses of the vanquished side.3 The whole, today abandoned and partly closed to the passage of people, is known as Pueblo Viejo de Belchite. It has the titles of very noble, loyal and heroic villa, and holds the cross laureate of San Fernando that Franco gave him.4

Symbolic Spiral Meaning

Perhaps it's most prolific appearance is in Celtic symbology where we see the spirals decorating a myriad of their ancient artifacts. In Celtic art and symbolism, we can intuit a few meanings from the forcefully present spiral...

In terms of spirituality, the spiral symbol can represent the path leading from outer consciousness (materialism, external awareness, ego, outward perception) to the inner soul (enlightenment, unseen essence, nirvana, cosmic awareness). Movements between the inner (intuitive, intangible) world and the outer (matter, manifested) world are mapped by the spiraling of archetypal rings; marking the evolution of humankind on both an individual and collective scale.

Moreover, in terms of rebirth or growth, the spiral symbol can represent the consciousness of nature beginning from the core or center and thus expanding outwardly. This is the way of all things, as recognized by most mystics.

Single Spiral

The single spiral is fairly common and may represent growth, birth or an expansion of consciousness.
