Mechanical timer built from a battery powered clock mechanism. it uses a wheel on an eccentric shaft to trigger the micro roller switch. The other two switches control the overall (master) output.
Wiring the switches into position. Note that we are using 3G1.5 cable, so the grounding cable is just cut.
Switch is positioned so that it's on the outside of the canister when mounted. You push it forward to switch the lamp on, and back to switch it off (mounted on right hip).
A pair of consecutive numbered GP38-2s pulls the Salisbury Switcher onto the S Line out of the old yard.
This is a switch inside the Electrical Room. I love how the broken stick is balanced there.
My sister and I made a trek through the woods at one of my favorite spots, the Northern State Recreational Area. Last week, I had caught a glimpse of another abandoned building off through the trees, but I had the kids with me so I skipped it at the time. It turned out that there were two buildings. One is a pumphouse but I'm not sure about the other. No pumps, but lots of old electrical stuff in it. I'm calling it the Electrical Room until I find out what it actually was.
New switch wiring. We are adding track lighting. It looks like chaos but it will all be terminated in at a double gang box with two switches. After which. it will be covered with new drywall and painted. This Lath and Plaster is common in Older San Francisco Homes. Its very brittle and creates a lot of dust.
The small, black, 3 pronged box on the track pad ribbon cable is the magnetic reed switch for the lid. Put a magnet up to it and it closes, putting the machine to sleep. Now the relay does the same job, but this is still there. (sorry for the bad quality of the pic, I had to steal it from pbfixit.com as I forgot to take a picture of the cable)
CSX locomotive 7788 waits patiently at the end of the double track near the Hyatts, Ohio crossing. Once an opposing train clears the single track and passes 7788, this train will proceed.
The oncoming train was still far away and called off mile post CD27.0 in Radnor, Ohio about 8 minutes after this photo was taken.
I saw this train stopped while driving down Liberty Road towards Delaware and was excited to finally get a chance to photograph a stopped train in the evening light.
The back of the switch shows that same heat damage - and the connector was actually lose, the plastic having melted. The insulation on the connector was largely gone - what remained was crispy black burned plastic. Luck be my Viva's guardian.
