Another one of my "Over the Top / Saturated Photos." Not a HDR, just dorking around in Lightroom 2.4.

Interesting facts from Wikipedia:

The M&H RR owns one of the last true ALCO switchers ever built, #1016. The 1016 is a T-6 type switcher engine. This and ALCO sister 151 (ex Western Maryland S-6) still see daily service in Middletown.

My grandfather, Stanley Rzepka, worked for the Milwaukee Road, mostly at the Bensenville Yard, from 1952 through 1977. He was a yard inspector--checking trains as they were being put together before they headed out, throwing switches, etc. This is his switch key, found recently by my grandmother and given to me.

In the background is a line of stored EMD SD70 locos mainly in the Grinstein green & cream made redundant by the downturn in coal traffic due to closure of coal-fired power stations and the Global Financial Crisis (GFC).
