These guys are fast. I believe they are 'swifts.' I got only three clear pics of them out of 40 attempts.

An injured Needle Tailed Swift that came into care on 1/1/07. I can't find anything wrong with it, so I'll take it to the zoovets tomorrow. These birds migrate south from North Asia to avoid the winters. They hunt and feed on the wing and can reach speeds of 130kph to avoid predators.

Swift Campout is a loosely organized (if at all) event, in a way, where people are encouraged to go on overnight bicycle camping trips. The first Swift Campout was organized by Swift Industries, a Seattle-based company that makes bags and accessories for bicycle touring, about 5 years ago as a means of self promotion (it seems) and to encourage group rides and exploration of parks and campgrounds within an easy ride.

There were so many swifts in Salamanca, Caceres and Madrid and therefore very few bothersome insects. Didn't see or hear a mosquito in 3 weeks. I read that swifts can reach 111km/h in level flight so it's difficult for insects to out-evolve them.
