A nice chance to rest. Here's me laying on a bed of roses. Not quite American Sweetheart. But hey, I love chocolate. I get to eat all these before I can do the shot. Well I was helped by my daughter ! I dn't hink this pattern for a rug will catch on.
Since we had to be at a Hardin-Simmons U Board of Young Associates meeting on my birthday weekend (as is the usual case), Alex treated me to a little indulgence that night. We went out to a very nice steakhouse for dinner, but brought some dessert home to enjoy while playing Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s.
Ah, pure bliss.
(I selected the chocolate for the fact that it's dark and has chile nibs... not the fact that it's named after Yoda's home planet. Really. I promise.)
Moist, rich, fudgy Brownies baked with dark and semi-sweet Chocolate morsels, and toasted Pecans and Walnuts.

Where: Four & Twenty Blackbirds, in Gowanus, Brooklyn, New York, NY. There’s also a few more scattered throughout Brooklyn (Prospect Heights notably). These pies can also be ordered online/by phone and delivered nationwide.
What is It: A slice of pumpkin pie made with brown butter and brown sugar, served with whipped cream.
Price: 6,75$ total. All pies served here are at a flat 6$, and whipped cream was 75cents.
Opinion: Feels like a welcoming dessert this time of year! Visiting here for breakfast, and sure pie might not be the best option, but it can work out for those interested. Sweet, chewy, and a classic fall treat.
Very easy! Just buy some frozen pastry, unfreeze it, cover it in sugar, cut the apples, make the nests and bake!
This is a sweet bun with raisins that I had with a cup of coffee this afternoon.
What I don't know is why they are called "Mini Chinois", i.e. "little chinese".
