Work-life and obligatory family responsibilities call for the mind, body, and spirit to recharge as often as possible to offset daily burdens. Therefore, the relaxing resorts, cultured experiences, plant-based eateries, and the mid-century modern architecture of Palm Springs were perfect for my journey. But what’s even more interesting is that the profusion of electric vehicles (EVs) on the market has led us to consciously rethink our lifestyles in order to reduce carbon footprints from what we eat and drink to how we drive and live. Humans overconsume in every category, so mindfulness, minimalist, and reductive habits are vital pillars to saving this planet from self-destruction. As a vegan myself, I know it's an anomalous approach from the norm; however, it is necessary for every facet of living.

I was feeling a little green this week. So I picked up a copy of The Green Issue of Vanity Fair and An Inconvenient Truth on DVD.
When I bought An Inconvenient Truth on DVD. The guy behind the counter asked me if i wanted a bag. Initially i said no.. ..then said YES, YES I WOULD LIKE A BIG THICK PLASTIC BAG FOR MY GLOBAL WARNING DVD. ha ha.
note: We have a fifteen cent levy on plastic bags. This is to encourage us to reuse and to use environmentally friendly bags.

i was thinking great ---an alternative --now i am hearing world hunger is getting worst due to usage of food for making fuel... and we are losing world forests to plant soy beans and other food to make fuel...
i say it is management of the resources and the possibilities that make the difference, once united states government paid the us farmers not to grow food, because they couldn't even give it away for free... and they were giving away a lot for free.
there are a lot of possibilities, organization, process and management -- strong awareness of future direction while solving problems in the present, these are vital to progress.
good news for the fuel problem! ---not! for the world problem??

These falls are in the mountains above the city of Cairns, Qld Australia - scanned in from a photo taken with a Pentax MZ-60.
This is part of the original ancient rain forests of this area, - the forests of the Daintree area, a few kilometres away, being amongst the oldest in the world. They go back to the time of the dinosaurs (60 million years ago). Some of the rare species we have in this area are tree kangaroos, sugar gliders and some amazing micro bats.
Currently the Daintree is protected as a National Park and there have been postive moves to reforest certain areas to create wildlife corridors for isolated species, such as the tree kangaroo and the cassowary (a flightless bird the size of an ostrich).
The area around the falls shows patches of both traditional wet rain forest and also dry rain forest species, depending on if the area is in the rain shadow or not. We have tree ferns, cycads and other plants dating back millenia.
