Another collaboration mural that is uniquely surreal by LA artist Christina Angelina & London based Fanakapan. Seen in the Arts District of L.A.!
* The other day, the river Drina had an extraordinary color, it was blurred, it was brown . Also, low water level has allowed me to get down deep into the riverbed.
Then I photographed the reflection of the bridge and its surroundings in the river. And, after that is simply reversed 180 degrees and got this little surreal photo . :)
Enjoy and have a nice day .
* Prije neki dan , rijeka Drina je imala vanrednu boju , bila je zamucena , bila je braon boje . Takodje , nizak vodostaj je omogucio da sidjem duboko u korito .
Potom , fotografisao sam odraz mosta i okoline u rijeci . A , nakon toga je jednostavno obrnuo za 180 stepeni i dobio ovu pomalo nadrealnu fotografiju . :)
Uzivajte i prijatan dan . —
Fiat Lux! (Latin for Let there be light!). And right out of the blue endless sky there comes light. This is true candid street photo of a normal miracle. A bit surreal, of course, but surreal no more than our life itself.
Man briskly walks by the large announcement of the events at L.A.'s Museum Of Contemporary Art! Shown is the dramatic living sculptural / performance piece by Xu Zhen!
“In a world where everything stands straight, one light dares to lean”.

A visual journey into the surreal, meditating on the weight of unspoken emotions and the quiet tension of stillness.

At an art opening at the Cory Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, a side silhouette of a man in front of a vividly colored painting.
Banner directly across DeDe Ramone's grave at the infamous Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, CA.
A striking image of an old, rusted car engulfed by a resilient tree, symbolizing nature’s power to reclaim and outlast human creations. The contrast between decay and life tells a profound story of time, resilience, and renewal.
Reflected upon the still surface of the Rideau, the old iron bridge reveals its quieter self—distorted by ripples, softened by twilight, and rendered almost painterly in its reflection.
The trusswork, once forged for strength, now dances in water like memory in motion. Along the banks, green foliage frames the scene, grounding the surreal in the familiar. It’s a moment where structure meets stillness, and the past lingers gently in the present.

This is a real scene, which is why it caught my attention. I was there in the winter and noticed the abandonment of it all. But the light wasn't right until I passed by again in July, about 1/2 hour before sunset.
This photo was taken July 24, 2009 about 1/2 hour before sunset. I was there again on February 13, 2010, but the lighting was not there and an RV is now parked on the left of the barn, making it not such a pretty scene.
The DOF scale told me f/22 would place the entire scene in focus. While I was shooting however, I wanted to see what f/4, focused only on the front of the field, would create. This was f/4 @ 1/60th and it's become one of my favorite photos. The shallow DOF creates the feel I wanted to show that day.
In the western portion of the cemetery with no activity, I captured this young woman wandering about with fully illuminated headdress and lighted waist beads. Surreal to see an unattended child wondering behind.

I was told about these beach huts before we got to the car park, where they are stored. The beach is far below their winter location!! Whilst not a perfect shot [I can see a few faults], I'm really pleased with it :-)
We went for a bracing walk around the headland at Llanbedrog, looked at the exterior of the village church, then partook of a light lunch in the café at the Oriel and looked at the paintings and other works of art. [The premises-made cakes and sweet tarts looked WONDERFUL, but we were full!]. I'll upload some pics of the gallery in the future.
I nearly forgot to take photos of the beach huts and spent 5 mins quickly composing about 20 shots before my OH, his sister and I drove away.
"So, like, I was just walking down the street, you know? And like, this group of zombies just jumped out of nowhere and tried to eat my brains! I KNOW, right??? So like I tried to fight them off, but I got blood all over me and my dress. I think one of them bit me too! Like for real!!! It was soooo gross. What? Oh yeah...I'm like, totally fine. No seriously, don't worry about it. Actually...one of the zombies is kind of cute. I think I might go have a beer with him. OMG, Rachel! You should TOTALLY come down here and be zombified!! What?!? Don't be like that. It's totally cool. Oh please. WHATEVER!! You are so dead to me...."

As stated on the blackboard, as I looked into the storefront window filled with the Blessed Mother Mary! Lighted storefront !
They walk on, wrapped in silence or stories, their paths crossing the frame like whispers.
Behind them, the face—larger than life, void of life.
It doesn’t watch.
It waits.
Not for someone in particular, but for anyone unaware enough to forget they’re being seen.
And in that split second, you realize:
you were never the observer.
