This is a real scene, which is why it caught my attention. I was there in the winter and noticed the abandonment of it all. But the light wasn't right until I passed by again in July, about 1/2 hour before sunset.

This photo was taken July 24, 2009 about 1/2 hour before sunset. I was there again on February 13, 2010, but the lighting was not there and an RV is now parked on the left of the barn, making it not such a pretty scene.

The DOF scale told me f/22 would place the entire scene in focus. While I was shooting however, I wanted to see what f/4, focused only on the front of the field, would create. This was f/4 @ 1/60th and it's become one of my favorite photos. The shallow DOF creates the feel I wanted to show that day.
