Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen provide support to a COVID-19 community vaccination clinic hosted by the Virginia Department of Health and Federal Emergency Management Agency April 10, 2021, at the STEM Academy at Campostella, in Norfolk, Virginia. The family consists of a mother and father and their 6 children who previously lived in a delapidated, one-room, bamboo shack. Their house could not adequately withstand the tropical weather such as heavy rains and typhoons which can occur sometimes in the Philippines. Their new house is sturdy and secure and provides the family with the protection they need from the elements.

DRAPER, Utah — The approximately 75 Soldiers of the Utah National Guard’s 144th Area Support Medical Company will return to Utah from their 12-month deployment to Afghanistan via charter aircraft Sunday, March 20, at 2:45 p.m. at the Utah Air National Guard Base in Salt Lake City.

The mission of the 144th in Afghanistan was to treat patients in a hospital/clinic setting and provide medevac and ambulance support in a combat environment.

Soldiers arrived from overseas at Fort Lewis, Wash., earlier this week and have been undergoing demobilization processing.

Saddened by the events of hurricane Sandy, I decided to help form a group of likeminded runners who are interested in helping others in need.The idea is to run in Staten Island and use our legs to help distribute food and products to those who need help the most.

Fünfzehn Aktivisten haben sich heute von Berlin Lichtenberg aus auf den Weg zunächst an den Grenzübergang Spielfeld zwischen Österreich und Slowenien gemacht, um mit ihrer "Refugees Support Tour" benötigte Waren wie Zelte, Lebensmittel und sanitären Bedarf zu den wartenden Geflüchteten zu bringen. Neben den fünf Autos voll mit Hilfsgütern wollen sie auch praktisch die Hilfsinfrastruktur vor Ort unterstützen.

Nach Auskunft der Aktivisten auf ihrer Website, wurde seit zwei Wochen mobilisiert und dabei bereits 1.500€ an Spenden gesammelt, zudem hätten sich über 80 Personen gemeldet, die Spenden abgeben oder an der Tour teilnehmen wollten.

As the bidders were reduced to two - London and France I thought "we have no chance of winning." When we won I thought "I will not watch it" and yet as I caught David Beckham receiving the flame on British soil I suddenly realised how proud I was. After regretting not taking part in the Opening Ceremony and regretting not attempting to get tickets in any ballot I got caught up in Olympic fever and bought some pricey seats for the Women's Basketball Final.

Seen at the British Wildlife Centre, Newchapel, Surrey. The young squirrel tried, several times, to perch in the conifer to eat a nut. Increased weight meant that the branches chosen were not substantial enough. Finally, the squirrel found a stronger branch.
